I lost interest in Tiesto a long time ago so I don't plan on listening to this at all...but this talk of him nearly trainwrecking got me interested.
Which mix is it? I might listen to the stations copy to get a good laugh.

U know guys can obviously tell what Tiesto did can't u???....
Obviously the guy just grabbed all of his previous productions... He then just got rid of some parts (???Layers of sounds????), added some new bits, maybe cut it around a bit... and vola!.... new tracks
... The rest he flogged off other albums
BUt hey.... he didn't have much time to make it... I forgive him....

I think this is better than Just Be, personally speaking...
WEll...
I know personally I don't give a fuck what "NUMBER" a DJ is... If he's good I listen to him... It's quiete simple...
BUt u have to admit... most people out there (from my experience anyhow) who isn'aren't really into EDM just know one thing: Who the #1 is....
Then they go out and buy all the guys stuff... I think what bothers people is that Tiesto is so damn different. And certainly, if ur #1 u have that "AURA" around ur head... becasue so many more people listen to u, simply because they only know ur no.1. So expectations on the guy are a hell of a lot higher... I think that's kinda understandable.
Personally, I don't think he's all that good a representation of trance anymore... I've loved his music from like 1999-2003... but it's kinda dying out... maybe it's just my preferences changing. I think it's only the #1 3 times in a row think that's keeping him popular, mainly because of the people who don'aren't into EDM all that much just listen to him because all they know is that he's been #1 3 times in a row....
Take for example a TV show in AUstralia, that's for music... It's all EDM shit... Now, those guys don't have a god damned clue who good artists are. It's obvious when they describe Ferry Corsten as being a breakbeat artist. What's worse, is that Ferry Corsten appears on a breakbeat album by MOS featuring Australis's number #1 DJ, Kid Kenobe (anyone actually heard of him??? lol) , which was promoted on the show... so more people will buy it thinking, Ferry Corsten does breakbeat....
So basically, the retards never play anything half decent, ebcause they don't know shit about EDM. BUT! The minute a Tiesto Track comes out... IT"S ON THE SHOW! They GO ON AND ON ABOT WHAT A GREAT DJ HE IS and tell ya everything about him.... people watching the show are gonna go out and buy Tiesto shit... not knowing any better... and only buying his stuff, purely because he's #1.
I think when a DJ is in that statuss... everythign he makes had better be damned good, and nothing cheap...
but like i said before.... I forgive Tijs, because he does have more pressure, he someone who always tries to keep up with the latest style (probably not realising that HE IS the latest style), and because he had no fucking time to make Parade of The Atheletes...

Originally posted by Abhay Well, does the fact that I've never heard of either artist (and I'm sure this is the case for many other people) suggest that what u said, was LITERALLY TRUE???? It sux when they just make minor changes to old tracks man... I guess a littel bit is OK, but seriously, there has to be a limit doesn't there?

Originally posted by idoru Yes. Just because you haven't heard the songs, does not mean that they re-created it from old works. Saying what you just said is like saying, "I've never heard of John Doe in South Africa, so I'm sure he doesn't exist."

Originally posted by Abhay no no no... Dude, I mean... are the guys u mentioned very popular? WERE they very popular?... if not... maybe it's because they just grab their old shit too much....

Originally posted by idoru Probspot and Ozgur? Yeah, they're very popular.

Originally posted by Phortastic true. But my point is that if you're number 1 you are getting bashed... Good or bad, that doesn't matter you'll get bashed anyway.

Originally posted by Abhay ALl I'm trying to say is that the reason they're harrased so much is because they get so much damned spotlight/attention, whether they truly deserve it or not....

So i finally got this album. I should really stop buying music from amazon.com because it always seems like they get things a month later than everyone. oh well.
Anyways, I'm listening to it right now and it's decent. Heroes is pretty cool, and i'm enjoying that one. Just from a quick run through of everything, there are a few tracks that stick out because they sound good, and others that don't do it for me. we'll see in a few days how much this has grown on me.
question: is this Tiesto's first album that doesn't have lyrics on it? kind of surprised me.
oh man I am gonna have to get a copy of this.

Settle down, that's not the reason. Think about it...
He was playing all of these tunes during the parade of the athletes. He also dropped dub mixes of tunes like Walking on Clouds at the event itself. Why? Simple; as the athletes walked out, the stadium announcer would speak in the arena, announcing their arrival in two or three different languages. It'd be a bit odd to hear that during a vocal tune, isn't it?
