haha it was like every one in ten ppl i met on the night was on TA ..
err the army of phatties were beaten by trancetribe shirt wearer.. lol

Well I expect to cop a little flack for this post, but I'm gonna say it anyway.
I think I must ahve been at another night than most people here. As overall I thought the night was just good, but nothing 'special' at all really. RVG played too hard way too early, Started off with a couple of prog tunes, (probably the only few he owns), then cut loose with trance anthems way too early. The idea of his set was to warm up for ferry, not play anthem after anthem, and spoil things. I think those who thought it was great must have dropped too early and got carried away with it all. Yeah for sure he played some great tunes, but there was no journey or thought to it. No build up to the main act. His mixing was BPM matched thats it, for someone of his so called experience I expected a lot more. rather than hold the mix for a bar or two and then cut the next tune in hard everytime.
So by the time Ferry started, the sound for the night was simply burnt out and had already been done by RVG. Ferry played some great stuff but it was simply all pretty much along the same lines for 3 hours. I reckon he should have started with rock you boday and all the electro stuff 1st, to reset the crowd after Ronald.
Side room action was ok, each dj was lucky to have his crew there and some TA'ers (thanks guys), for support though, or each of us would have been playing to a near empty room. It didn't seem like people in the main room were at all interested in what was happening there at all....
Thoughts???
Agree with AJS1... spot on. Up the front the atmosphere was pretty good (especially with the trancetribe crew going nutso!), but further back it was a bit ho-hum. I expected better, as AJS1 said "good but not great" but then i had a lot of fun talking shit to people, so it was a good night.
The sound was pretty shithouse too, that probably didnt help.
Where was Rez, me & the ponies were looking for some short Asian smart arse dude... but then we got so mangled we couldnt tell who was Asian & who was short... let alone a smart arse.
That side room is kinda easy to miss, i wonder if many people even knew where it was?
Agree with ya AJS

Yeah, the sound right in front of the dj booth was bad, it was just a dead spot, if you stepped back a few metre's it improved pout of sight.
QBH sounded the best I'd heard it in ages though, full credit to JB. And th enew dance floor set up is awesome!!
No complaints about the crowd, I reckon the vibe was really good, as usual i chatted to many.
I think RVG was a bit off his head, coz if he'd looked around the rest of the crowd and not paid all his attention to the crazies :-) in front. he would have quickly realised he needed to tone it down and work the rest of the crowd and build the vibe properly.
i partly agree with what you said AJS1
sorry i completely forgot to come in and check it out..
i had a ball during RVG's set..
totallly went
when he played Velvet Morning..
it had been a while since i'd heard that...
(thanx to jolz for accompanying me on vocals)
back at work and massively dehydrated...
i'll make it a slow day though
strangis, up to Sasha - Wavy Gravy (Terry Bones Remix)
on your cd, and lovign it so far..

Well I gotta say that ferry's nite was almost as good for me as the night avb was there in January... wicked crowd, awesome fkn choons - rvg rocked it only to have ferry rock it harder afterwards, the muzz:normal human being ratio was maybe... 1:30 and to top it all off I was able to catch up with so many people that I havent seen in ages - loved every second of it
It was packed but it wasnt uncomfortably packed - there was always room to move and there was generally space to be found on the dancefloor where you could go
big props to the organisation of the night, loved it
mmmmmmm twas fun, quite boozed!! Got my rekkids signed early in the night to save the last min dash for ferry.
All in all a bit pissed off i missed most of RVG's set but ferry made my night!!
ok nick *cough* Future Host *cough*
Sorry but I am with Andrew Shultz on this - RVG was good but should have been experienced enough to know not to go all out before Ferry...
...Ferry was meeeh to say the least - a few good tracks towards the end but i agreed with whoever said that he should have dropped the electro bombs early to make an impact after RVG.
Sound in the main room was shite - glad to see the side room boys managed to use a better set up than prevois events although I spent all of 30 seconds in there
Overall the crowd that was around the dj booth, upstairs in the booths and towards the entrance was good - if you were not munted and actually walked around the other areas you would have noticed the carnage so to speak
Good to meet a few new faces (or ppl I have apparently met before but could not remember until now) and catch up with the crew in full force

haha sorry 5am lads, i drilled in two monster lines and i was done
did not want to socialize, rather dance... my apologies, plus im always somewhere at the back of every event. the fronts too crowded for me
BACK to the night, rvg played an awesome set... although he did kill the mood as ferry came up. although ferry's intro to Punk was something rather awesome and probably the highlight of the night.
ACTUALLY the highlight of the night for me, was staring down stipsy!! hahahahhah
i was that fucked i eyeballed him waiting for a reaction, poor stips had no idea.
I was a little shattered not to meet the pony girls, but hey... the longer the anticipation, the more fulfilling it will be
just got home. massive headache.
what a crazy night!! simply awesome partying with the tribers & TA's at QBH. loved the shirts guys
satellites... HUUUGEEE!!!
Caught the end of JPL, and the beginning of Pana's sets. Just awesome guys!
had to leave in the middle of ferry's set to get some keys for a mate which sucked but got back just in time for Adagio woooooo
the rest of the night was just... out there LOL.
steve was rocking when i left too.
i caught the ponies!!
had you guys followed me you would have found rez too ;P
agree with AJS1, RVG went too hard too early. i was bored during that part of his set, and he really did take the energy out of ferry's performance.
i also noticed that the melbournites (albeit the TA's I ran into) weren't so into it as the syd folks were. like what's up with that !!
and the side room *was* easy to miss. i thought it was going to be on the second floor at first but only stumbled upon it when I was going for a pass out.
oh and the warm water taps... ghey.
