ya, Real got smoked!!! Lyon is a great team but i woudn't have thought they'd do so well since they have new manager now. I thought Houlier will be hurting but i guess i was wrong.
well, w/e GO MILAN!!!

Posted by raveed on Sep-14-2005 15:32:

lyon were top scorers in the champions league last year and looks like they carried that form to this year which is not a good sign for the other big boys in the tourney .... with each game it is getting more and more apparent that madrids glory days are fading away slowly .... all their galacticos are aging... they havent sorted out their defence and are yet to find a big replacement for makelele in defensive midfield which IMO is the most important position in modern day football .... good to see inter and rangers get of to a winning start ... kakas goal for ac milan was unbeleivable ... this guy is going to be world footballer of the year within the next 3 years

of 2 today ... united - villareal should be a great game ... riquelme is injured which works out in our favor big time since he and forlan were the catalysts behind the teams success last season and this being an away game only makes it better although its still going to be very hard to come away with anything ..

rooney made an ass hole of himself today. You just dont do them kind of things when youre a proffesional. And wasnt it ironic that it was the same ref that sent david beckam off at france 98 against argentina..

Horrible game by Man U.

Lille sucks. Their keeper Sylva had good game and midfielder Makoun also.

who needs match practise when you can come on after a 7 week injury lay-off and score 2 amazing goals thus becoming your clubs all-time leading goal-scorer!

DAMN!

Red Star kicked Roma's ass... wow.

Roma sucks. There's no team spirit.

Wow Cristiano Ronaldo has class... I don't understand how you can give the finger to a crowd of the club you supported your whole life... that's pretty low.

And for anyone that doesn't know already, ManUtd finished last in the group so they can concentrate on the Premiership now.

Another broken UEFA Champions dream for Man Utd. .... haven't able to make it to the final in the passed 6 years .... one word only, better luck next year

Keeping my hope ups for FA Cup & league title race with Chelsea!

Benfica is also not paying his salary... Mind you it is pretty silly thing to do and I smell a fine and maybe a ban.

I'm fired

So it's reading week and I'm bored.

Check http://www.livesoccertv.com/ to see which station is showing which match.

Tuesday, 21 February 2006
Bayern Munich v AC Milan
-Very tough to call. Bayern is at the top of Bundesliga with all cylinders firing. Milan is Milan, but trailing Juventus by 10 points or something like that. Milan's away form is not very good either. If Bayern can get a lead at home and hold on at away, they'll win.
Bayern to win

Benfica v Liverpool
-Benfica currently 5 pts back of leaders Porto at 4th place in Portuguse Superliga. Liverpool is on a decent run and looks like they're finally clicking together. Advantage, Liverpool

PSV v Lyon
-Repeat of last year's quarterfinals and should be good one. I love how both teams play. PSV looks like the weaker team on paper, but never discount Guus Hiddink to pull a magic.
I say PSV wins (probably on away goals)

Real Madrid v Arsenal
-Both teams having their troubles and both might try to stem up their league performance by doing well in Europe. Providing Arsenal stays clear of injuries, they have the advantage as Real is inconsistent as heck. (And rumours that Ronaldo wants to leave...)

Wednesday, 22 February 2006
Ajax v Inter Milan
-Ajax doing pretty poorly in domestic and managed to get to this stage in CL because their group was so weak. Inter is stronger team in every way, but Ajax still has some good players who can string together some magic, esp. striker Huntelaar who's been impressive lately.
Inter should have no trouble winning though.

Chelsea v Barcelona
-Probably the most anticipate fixture, bound to be good one. Both teams on top of their leagues without showing signs to slow down. Both teams pretty much even all around. Will end up being one player pulling huge to break the deadlock. I still think Chelsea is better though.

Rangers v Villarreal
-Rangers 3rd on Scottish league and no way in hell catching up to Celtic, or even Hearts for 2nd place. Villareal is like 6th right now. Both teams inconsistent at times. Villareal does look stronger on paper with Riquelme being able to create a lot of middlefield. So I say Villareal wins.

Werder Bremen v Juventus
-Juve will win. No way they can lose this the way they are playing at the moment. Be wary of Werder Bremen counterattacks as they are capable of pulling an upset.

BAYERN ... WILL SMOKE AC MILAN

Posted by loconet on Feb-21-2006 20:34:

End of first half : Real 0 - Arsenal 0

Very entertaining game so far.

Final: Real 0 - Arsenal 1

Goal by Henry shortly after the start of the second half.

Very good game by Arsenal.

Really should have been Bayern Munich's game. That Ballack goal. Jeesus. Candidate for goal of the year.

Milan was very lucky to escape with 1-1 draw.

Posted by Aitizaz on Feb-22-2006 01:17:

and Real were lucky to lose by only one goal....jeez....Arsenal could've had 3 in the first 10 mins.....wicked win by the way....F**K YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by DJ Robben on Feb-22-2006 01:22:
