Okay, I just saw that Girls Eating Sandwiches thread... utter... brilliance. Shame on me even putting myself in that bracket.

| Originally posted by OurManFlint Because ravers have literaly taken a form of music and took a huge shit on it without any care of consequences. Back when I did go to raves, this was my normal conversation: Raver: Hey, what's up man!! Me: Uh, not much. Raver: Hey, are you rolling? Me: No Raver: Ah man, this rave is so cool. This is like my 7th rave I've been to in the past two months man. I love raving. Me: That's cool. Raver: I swear, techno music is my favorite right now, it makes me roll so much harder. I love techno!! My favorite dj's are dj (insert name) and dj (insert another) because they drop the fattest beats man. Me: Are they your favorite just because they are on the bill and everybody else says they like him. Raver: What. No. He's my favorite because he spins techno. Well, he's a drum n' bass dj. What, you don't know what your talking about. _________________________ The average life of a ravis like 6 months I think, until they get burned out. |

Ill just say this much. I live in Southern Cali. When they booked PVD, Judge Jules and Pete Tong to play candykids complained PVD wasnt a good headliner instead they shouldve got a happycore dj instead.
Even worse was all the ones who said they liked trance had no idea who above and beyond was.
Im not trying to sound all high and mighty but I mean c'mon

| But I have been trying to ascertain why EDM is so damn dead here in America. I'm guessing it's just because most of us don't have the patience to listen to an entire album by Sasha as he loops ethereal beats and synths together. Most of us would rather pop in a Lil' John cd and laugh as he says "yeaaaaah!" |
Hey... I rave... with photon lights...
oh nooooo.. i'm killing the sceennnnneeee

The scene in some parts of the country is actually HUGE, it's a big freakin country you know? All parts of big edm countries in other parts of the world don't have HUGE edm scenes. The scene near me (Detroit) is soso at best but we get big names and i'm near enough a lot of big clubs (The Gov in Toronto) so i'm happy.
