how could anyone like alan smith? the guy is a racist thug who betrayed leeds united and their fans. didn't he say that he would never play for manure? and then what does he go and do . . . what a traitor. and i don't buy that crap that since leeds got relegated that they aren't rivals anymore. rubbish.

wat should he have done then??? gone down with them to league 1 and destroyed his career??

united offered the highest price for his services and he even refused his cut of the 7 million pounds and gave it to leeds instead ...putting his past history aside, i dont think there are 2 many players who put as much into the game as smith does ... that attempt to block risse's free kick says it all... good thing the leeds fans arnt like the scousers who gave death threats to gerrard when he was on the verge of joining chelsea

Where did you get that from
Getting him confused with bower, woodgate or barmby maybe?
Oh and btw gaby thinks he'll be back soon.. Cant see him starting for the first team for around 2 months though.

i dont think hel be back atleast for another month or so.. however once he gets back it should be interesting to see how fergie goes about things given that we bought 2 great defenders in vidic and evra over january ... i reckon brown and silvestre could be playing their last seasons at OT

Wouldnt call them great yet, they havent exactly proven themselves. Evra has been caught out of position a lot and vidic has made a few mistakes. But it will take time for them to get used to the league. Evra looks good going forward, think he might take over from giggs on the long term. When heinze is fit he will definitely be in the first 11.
And brown isnt leaving, he is one of the absolute best defenders in the world, better than rio possibly. Just a shame he has had so many injuries. I think the back four will be gaby, rio, wes, gary.

That would be insane, where did you hear this 'rumour'.

Personally I'd play Ruud and Saha up front, and put Rooney in midfield. Then bring Rossi on for the last 30 mins as he's earned it.

Posted by raveed on Feb-26-2006 17:36:

4-0 ... fergies gamble paid of .. saha and rooney both scored ... and we have avoided ending the season without a trophy ... good job lads

Posted by zoric on Feb-26-2006 17:38:

Congratulations.

i remember being mocked for winning this trophy in the past, but i won't mock you. congratulations.

Good effort by Manchester United to win this one, even though the opponents wasn't the best.

for some reason i thought that smith was involved in those attacks. i stand corrected. i never would want to accuse someone of something like racism when it's not true. but going to manu from leeds is still wrong in my book. he could have gone anywhere, but he goes to their rivals.

Posted by Cloud on Feb-26-2006 18:57:

did we win?
oh yes we did...

Posted by fastmp3 on Feb-27-2006 05:57:

you got mocked for winning this trophy in the past because that was during the pre chelski era when trophies were won rather than bought
