had a good night, well done, looked like a lot of effort went into it and i think it went down well. i couldn't really understand what the little intro thing was saying before each dj though. other than that it was really good, jules played great at the end finishing with tilt, steve played awesome after that, we checked out the side room for a while which was going off too, came back in for some pana action omgz urban train, and managed to fit in a bit of scotty before i had to pike. what was the dvd playing about the history of dance music or something? lia and i were being nerds and reading the periodic table in the background of it haha. how good is talking to jules when he's plastered we'll go check out the museum some time vi hehe
well done peoplez

yeah, so it's been a while since i've been to a trance night. Let's just say I got swept up in the moment!

Top work to all the guys. Jules warmed up beautifully - what was the last track he played? Tilt - ?

Strangis came on and showed why he's playing mainstage at Gods again... he just nailed the set for the timeslot, not playing bomb after bomb, but just teasing, varying the tempo until he let it loose at the end. Perfect stuff, Stevie - all class.

Saw a few old faces (Hybrid Junkie, Paulie, jizza) and met some new ones (Scotty - at last, Soups lovely GF Charlotte & Ravvar).

Never seen Room look that good for a local night - well worth all the effort, boys. The sense of continuity throughout the night worked nicely. Two thumbs up

Yes - half the place left, it wasn't good!

Good night was had and good to catch up with a fair few off you, awesome set up with the tv's - i liked that more than the lasers. Hope you guysd aren't in too much debt after that night.

Look forward to your next installment guys

Top effort to you all...although room needs to pick up their game on heating/cooling/ventilation...but hey, thats always been the case :P

My relations to Steve and Chris aside, id actually like to raise a convo i had with jules during chris's set; mate, while its great to play safe and keep a crowd interested through tunes you know will work, its a mighty fine effort to perhaps educate and try something new. Constructive criticism and everyone is entitled to opinion (such is mine on this one). The fact that the crowd thined out during chris's set (and yes this does come to defence of him not because of relations but because i believe he's a good jock) means that perhaps some people we're tired from a full working week just like i was and simply had no fuel left in the tank...it was the music that kept me at that joint until i simply could not stay up any more.

If someone has proven themselves time and time again (like steve has) then there really is no musical issue. Take the opportunity to mould you followers to your style of music so when you play that fresh track you come across, it will be labelled your own. Thats the essence of a dj imho.

In any event, respect where its due and appart from the testicles hanging from the ceiling (dont get upset im kidding that was pretty classy) the night overall was really good.

Nice to run into the O.G. massive and look forward to some rump shakkin again soon.

Onelove.

Pete / / no name on thy feet.

it was good to see you out and about once again pete, yeah it was an interesting convo-
i dunno man ive tried the whole education thing a fair bit, it didnt werk for me. ya shoulda seen the crowds ive driven away at r00m in the past..maybe in a smaller environment where the crowd is totally up for it its the time for a bit of education but main room big club - dunno.

having said that yer the crowd thinned a bit, but everyone that was on the floor was luvin panas sound, suburban train went bannanas

great sets allround (:

obtw last sq-k last track i played was an oldie (one of my all time favs) Tilt - I Dream (Resurrection mix)

Well... awesome night, Good work by everyone that was involved.

It was good to see the place with some good numbers early on, I was expecting to walk into a deserted room at about 10:30, as it usually is, but I was surprised to see the place so full by 12.
Jules did a fantastic job for the warm up, normally not the greatest fan of warmup sets myself, but this one I quite enjoyed.

The decor and visuals came out a treat, the four plasmas worked to great effect and the intros were good, just a small issue, was that I couldn't make out the voice overs and neither could anyone I talked too. *And one of the projector screens was split down the middle, but now I'm getting really anal*

Steve's set was great, crowd really seemed to love it. Bit of a death at 2pm, which with the early peak also, leads me to belive that alot of the numbers were the regular friday night room crowd, the handbag nights, which would normally die off after 2, plus it always happens to an extent when passouts are available.

That aside, chris played great, nice mix up of tracks and scotts set was fantastic also, would have loved to be up there for that one, but I was far too buggered by that stage, forced to have a chinstroke.

Good to catch up with some folk, haven't seen HJ in what must be getting on a year now, marsh getting thoughly excited, and I almost fell off my chair when I saw that pic , and all the usual suspects too. Look fowards to the next one, and seeing some more photos.

Did the night achieve what you had hoped?

Posted by PDT on Aug-27-2005 07:50:

Thats all good mate, but now that i dont have a vested interest on the other side of the fence, im just a punter with a voice and im calling for fresh stuff...bear in mind ive been induldged in the 90-98 trance sound and 95-04 techno barrage, so what may be old to you may still be new to me...just remember there is a far greater crowd outside the boundaries of those that are promoted to, most of which have no idea what trance actually is.

In any event, you will see me out again cause its always been music for me and i like what i heard last nite

Just got home! Had such a great night!

Congrats to all involved it was quite a show

Posted by sLiCk_NiCk on Aug-27-2005 12:48:

i think this is the beggining of something big. well done to the boys for putting in many hours to get this up and running. what a show it was! decore was awesome and the setup with the decks at the back, plasmas behind the djs and visuals all made for that big room feel. once that laser came on the crowd just watched that for the next 10minutes

awesome warmup set jules...got the bodies on the dancefloor. steve one of the best sets ive heard from u, u were loving it! chris also had the crowd jamming with suburban train and bateman took it home with some precision mixing

pics to come...including munt of the night...myles

Posted by Hybrid Junkie on Aug-27-2005 13:57:

Haha my funniest pic was of Paulie.

But he'll probably castrate me if I posted more classics of him
What can I say, you're muntogenic!

Posted by sunrise3500 on Aug-27-2005 14:43:

with the discussion of a lot of ppl leaving 2-3ish.. i dont think they were "driven" out, but rather they only came to stay that long in the first place.. I guess the night wasnt quite what they were expecting, but I doubt they were dissapointed

Well I didn't/don't emember chris's set but the above statement was not uniform amongst the munters...err...punters.
