I was totally not a fan of this set...zzzzzzzzz

Half of those records are at least a year or two old.

I'm listening to it now and would have to agree, I'm not digging it too much. Her style now, like the set in Holland, is a bit more of what I like. I can't really get into the hard fast techno these days unless the mood is just right, I'm more into the funky minimal tech now.

Me too!
Her Holland set is incredible. the last 45 minutes aren't exactly what I would want to hear peak time at a club (reminds me of her set at stereo in Dec) but they are amazing tracks nonetheless!

if, like me, you were dying to know what the second last track is....it's loco dice's "seeing through shadows" to be released on m-nus in late June! I've heard it played by beyer and richie too...gonna be a huge track of the summer.

Livesets.com tribute's today is for another techno lady, Magda!

This week a tribute to the queen of minimal land, Magda.

Magda began djing in 1996. Working her way throught the underground party circuit, via promoters such as syst3m, and joining the all female dj collective women on wax, it was a short while before she began appearing regularly at detroit area events and clubs. 1999 Magda's initial forays into techno electro and house had evolved.

Her dj sets were becoming increasingly minimal and the records in her crate reflected a love of weird, challenging music. Invited by Richie Hawtin to open for him at his millenium celebration epok, Magda was entering a new phase in her career. In the time since Magda has expanded her work with Hawtin, becoming his sole choise to open many of his recent detroit and international events, including: jak DEMF weekend (2001), control. Labor day weekend (2001), as well as earning an envious position on the line up of "from our minds to yours" the plus 8 ten years anniversary party.

Trought all her recent experiences, Magda style has once again matured. Increasing adept at moving any dancefloor, her fusion of detroit techno, acid house, new wave, and minimal/ experimental aesthetics, has pushed boundaries and won rave reviews during a recent stint in Europe, again opening for Hawtin, as part of the "De9:Closer to the edit" Tour.

The next few months will see Magda making the jump from Dj to producer, releasing music under the moniker, run/stop restore, and on the minus label. throught the blips an bleeps of machine music, Magda has managed to find a certain humanity in ciruitry, giving her sets with certain soul, not readily found in the overage techno dj. This has earned her featured spots at many respected clubs, most notably: The end London, sankey's soop manchester, eros son juon, puerto rico, red no. Five and big wig, chicago, motor resident, detroit, the temple detroit, halcyon, brooklyn, mettle, toronto, guernico, new york, foundation, new york.

Heiko Laux tribute on Livesets.com today!

This week a tribute to the man behind Kanzleramt, Heiko Laux!

This artist, born in the city of Bad Nauheim in Hessen, which is close to Frankfurt, regards Farley Jack Master Funks 1986 release Love cant turn around as one of the most important influences in his early career. I wanted to make my future audience as happy as this house track made me. I wanted to play this energy and to pass it on to others remembers Heiko. It was at this point, that it became clear to him that he would become either a DJ, or a musician. He decided to become both.

In the mid 80s, he began his career as a producer with a Casio Keyboard. The presets and patterns were edited and the resulting sounds were passed, via his brother, to the only club in town The Soccer Club.

At the end of the 80s the young Laux was a frequent guest in the new club Omen in Frankfurt. Omen has been the most influential club for me and from 1989 onwards, I was there several times a month.

Meanwhile, 35kilometers away in Bad Nauheim, the studio in his parents house was filling up with more and more machines and had become a central meeting place for like minded musicians. When his brother opened up a pub, Heiko seized the opportunity to move the studio. Although the space moved, the idea: to find a new way and an own sound in this new musical movement, remained. Anthony Rother, Johannes Heil, Patrick Lindsey who became the first league of the Kanzleramt artists - were regular guests in what was soon to become the legendary pub Kanzleramt. While honing his DJ skills, Heiko discovered his love for the work of Jeff Mills and the idea to develop a label. In 1994 the label he founded was named Kanzleramt.

This week's Livesets.com tribute on friday will be for Valentino Kanzyani!!

"This week your weekend will have a great start with a very cool tribute to the co-founder of Recycled Loops, Valentino Kanzyani

It could well be said that alongside fellow countrymen Laibach and Umek, Valentino Kanzyani is one of Slovenia's biggest musical exports. As well as spinning techno and house on three decks across the world to huge crowds and acclaim he has released a barrage of dancefloor anthems for labels such as Primevil, Yoshi Toshi, Intec, Wet Musik, Tronic, Primate, Consumer Recreation and his and Umek's jointly run Recycled Loops and Earresistible imprints. If anyone can lay claim to putting Slovenia on the techno map then the name Valentino Kanzyani ranks high as one of it's biggest propagators.

Already a big name DJ within his native Slovenia, in 1995 a club called 'Ambasada Gavioli' opened and Valentino Kanzyani became known as the man behind one of Slovenia's most famous venues. During a three and a half year period he booked and played with literally every DJ from around the globe but as the new millennium approached he left to concentrate on his own DJing and production work. It was after going into the studio with his old friend, Umek that Valentino was to release his first record as Recycled Loops on Primevil in the summer of 1999. Thus, Valentino Kanzyani's name was soon to be heard in DJ sets all over the world and similarly his DJ gigs went supernova as he joined the jet set elite of globe-trotting record spinners.

Following the success of their initial release Umek and Valentino set up Recycled Loops as a label and have never looked back. Now having released some 12 records the duo also co-run Earresistible for their more house inspired production work whilst Valentino Kanzyani's single-handed production skills have graced labels as varied as Intec with the 'House Soul EP' and Tronic ('Burros Eslovenos') to Yoshi Toshi with the massive 'Flying' whilst he has most recently remixed Carl Cox's new single, gaining Essential Selection status from Pete Tong.

Valentino's DJing has taken him to every corner of the world. His three deck skills are second to none and as a result he's toured the world steadily for the past few years taking in Brazil, Colombia, Japan, USA, Australia, Singapore and every corner of Europe, whilst on radio he has been heard across the globe's airwaves culminating an Essential Mix on Radio 1. From 10,000 plus strong crowds at the world's biggest festivals to intimate club gathering's Valentino Kanzyani now finds himself in the premier league of trans-global Deejays. With a new DJ mix CD due out on Carl Cox's Intec in 2005 the next twelve months look set propel him even further into the stratosphere.

So you better tune in to LiveSets Radio, this Friday at 12:00 CET!"

I know I will be enjoying this one... *luv* Valentino!!
