Sorry if somebody already asked/answered this question (no time to read the whole thread at work) but what time does the Church open and close on Fridays? I'm flying on standby to Denver to see Rank 1 and might get there pretty late....

Hope to meet Denver (and other) TAs that night!

I'd much rather see him play a longer set at an exponentially better venue in LA or Vegas - especially if he is going to be flying his friends in (Swedish House Mafia - North American debut would be an event for the ages).

Doors at the Church are at 9, but the headliner doesn't ever go on until 11:30 at the earliest. Set will end about 1:45am.

Nah, Piet's just a good friend of mine so I try to support him any way I can (but of course I'm a fan too, just a bit biased one ). Plus I need some excitement and adventures in my life

Colorado clubs are a poorly run business. They dont bother changing anything up or improving it because there is no competition. Church and Vinyl are same owner or what not. Yea they improved the sound in vinyl, but the vibe in both places isnt that great. They do bring in DJ's during the summer but for short sets because the main dj only gets on at 11:30 or even midnight. I would recommend going to Rank1 in LA unless someone can back up saying Rank1 is playing at least a 3 hour set.

funny as thats the best venue in co. besides WOW at the boulder theater when no one showed, that was an awesome show. (fucking amazing)

vinyl is horrible but they own both places so whatever. i went to see WOW at vinyl and they were relegated to the last 20 mins of the entire night. i tried to get my money back, but the ticket taker claimed they were performing when they were not, and managers are hard to find at vinyl.

i love hanging out with chad and folks, and as many issues you could have with the church, it has always had better sound and vibe that vinyl.

vinyl is a poorly run business|

I would hesitate to say even that Vinyl has better sound. i think they set it up with the club empty and then just crank the shit outta everything, especially the treble when its full. i cant remember that problem happening too often at the church|

i'd like to see jarrell, but i could've sworn seeing someone pretty bad headlining that same night on a Church flyer..of course coclubs doesn't say anything other than Blake. and also take into consideration my sobriety level on the nights I saw those flyers (ie apparent grinding & of course the pics) and who knows

Yeah I also thought I saw a flyer with him as the opening dj. But 1/2 the time I can't even get coclubs to load, let alone give accurate information.

Lol it wasn't really grinding...more like rubbin dah booty. yarr

Rank 1 is headlining at the Church that night - nothing even remotely bad about that!

unf my computer speakers often have the best sound in denver...or boulder, whatever.

after the lawler/kleinenberg show in stockholm most denver systems leave a lot to be desired.

shit the boulder theater WOW show outdid anything in denver|

well right, i suppose i should have put a disclaimer on my statement, the sound isn't really "good" anywhere in denver, it is what it is

go listen to some of the clubs in Detroit or go to the Ultra Music Festival in Miami - then thou shalt know horrible sound.

Denver is mid-range but its still good from what I've heard. The best sound system I've ever heard was Sonic's in Toronto which was modeled after Stereo's in Montreal. You could "taste" sound if that makes any sense.

I still defend Vinyl - I like my dirty scummy tramp-ridden venue!
