well, see everyone there!
Just got home from PvD. Weeeeeeeeeeeee I had mad fun! I met a bunch of TA's but according to people that wasn't PvD's best but whatever I had fun! I'm going to sleep now
and thats my PvD review
Till next outing!!!
Yeah just got back too PVD was good but not excellent. I was happy he dropped Let Go (Vandit mix) insane in the club. Also shake the wall by nick terranova ft oasis. Dropped Beautiful Things haven't heard that in awhile. I got some videos that I'll upload later.
damn that sucks. sorry guys. i guess pvd didnt play too hard, probably just more of the popular tracks right?
Wank! Britney Spears was the killer for me!
pvd - new york dub mix
first state - falling
fkn - why
filo and peri - anthem
pvd - we're alive
pvd - for an angel
that's all i can remember right now, i am still somewhat drunk though
ASSHOLES,
PvD deserves it's own review thread!! I know not everyone is awake yet but I'm kinda glad June's set was better [excellent!!]. I was super jealous that I didn't go last night hahaha.
Next time PvD is in Miami I'll def be there. w00t for getting a raise!
edit- let go vandit mix is the shit.

Yeah I could have sworn I heard a couple train wrecks too but I was like PVD train wreck nah can't be lol. He was really spinning that low of bpm??
Well here is my first video where he dropped Falling.. I mean he came out banging hard but something happened lol.
Here he dropped Atlantis City nutss!!!
lol what a waste..I wasn't expecting anything good from him..his days are pretty much over...cheese fest of the same garbage year after year.
June he really did an amazing job and 2 weeks ago he rocked it for 6 hours non stop.
November isn't a very good month for PvD. [thanksgiving 04 has me traumatized!] I think the one time he did exceptionally well was the week after he won #1 that very first time in 05.
that's really crazy to hear he played that slow.

PVD played much "harder" for his friday performance in central park, and thats saying alot right there. moment of the night was shake the wall, i wished the track of the night could have been better. I dunno, i am going to e-mail pvds team about last night. i swore i heard a couple trainwrecks (yes with ableton) and so began the crap. He was playing below 132bpms for the next hour and a half out of a 4 hour set. I really think ableton was giving him trouble but to me theres no excuse. Have some CDs with you to do a backup set lets not forget wir sin weir was played twice along with leg go 2 times at least, maybe 3. there was quite a few tracks he played a few times. blech |
glad i skipped out on this one, it blows my mind to see that he still is playing anthem, wtf thats unbelievable
Let's just say PVD has had way better nights. Still had fun as it was a good party and crowd
The 45 minutes I caught of Edgar's opening set was spot on, perfection for an opener. Then PVD took over with the crowd going insane, and actually started off very good, dropping some sick remix of New York City [nights] followed by First State 'falling' and a bunch of high energy tracks including one of my favorites at the moment 'Let Go.' I thought we were in for a full-on PVD set, but about 1.5 hours in he dropped the tempo down dramatically, dropping a few house tracks followed by some low-BPM prog/vocal trance. The set really lulled at that point. I was expecting him to build it back up properly, but he never really did. Sure there were a few high energy tracks dropped here and there, but the energy and flow he started with was gone and most of it was very slow and too light for my taste. Weird thing, the crowd was eating it all up?
And as someone else pointed out correctly, there were definitely some noticeable technical issues with the ableton, and repeat tracks as well. Reminded me of WMC 2006 where that same thing happened.
As for Prydz on the terrace, some of my friends caught him @ Cameo and sent me negative texts about how he played over there. However I wanted to see 4 myself, and no such problems existed on the terrace. His minimal/techy trippy style went off well on the terrace. While it's not the highest energy stuff, it is good terrace sunrise music, and he built it up quite nicely in the 2+ hours I was there. Cannot say anything about what he did after 8:15 or so when I left (have no idea how long he played), but the 2 hours & 15 mins I caught were good, and they should bring him back.
Random thoughts from a Tampa TA...
I'm afraid the days of PvD are done. I have lost faith in him both as a producer and as a DJ. His set was OK for the first 30 mins, afterwards it seemed to be a random selection of cheese. He came on the decks all excited, which I thought was a good thing. Turned out he was playing a set for 18 year olds. No flow what so ever, nor were the tracks selected notable. He must be getting lazy. 2 years ago in November he was on a mission to send you into the deepest depths of trance... and he did just that. He floored the entire place that night with some of the sickest, hardest beats on the planet. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this set reminded me of an Armin or Tiesto.
The crowd was the worst I have ever seen it. It was so bad that the floor was not a viable option if you wanted to enjoy yourself. We watched one kid fall over horizontal into us and then onto the floor. Twice every track would a group of idiots try to shove their way in or out, you could not dance for more than 30 second periods without getting plowed. I don't remember this being the case 2 years ago... I have not seen him @ Space since.
Space main room as a venue. Undeniably one of the sickest clubs in America. But, what is it worth with shit DJ sets and shit crowds? Is Space becoming too popular? The booth was wayyyy better in the back. I remember Space as this dark, long club full of hardcore EDM addicts looking to get a fix of real underground beats. Now it seems everyone and their mother are coming out on a Sat bc its the cool place to be. Take my thoughts with a grain of salt, I am no expert about Space.
For my EP and terrace review, check the Prydz thread.
Ehh.. Pretty good first 30 minutes to an hour.. then i don't know what happened. I didn't even get to finish his set cuz I was tired of people plowing into my wife...
After all this, i'd probably still go see him again, he has rocked it pretty damn nasty the last 3-4 times he's played here so i'll cut him some slack.
Nice meeting....

| Originally posted by MJM420 So true.. I'm glad I didn't go. I heard the Main room was too packed & by hearing everyone thoughts on the crowd I can see y it wasn't all that. Well we always have the Beach Bashes for some good tunes guaranteed & no worries of people plowing over you. It's a shame how people can make a club & at the same time break a club. It's crowds like that who give the scene a very bad name. my 2cts worth. |

| Originally posted by JD8180 imo i thought the crowd was fine, i think the issue was more the fact that it was TOOOO packed. at least where i was i didn't see anyone being too aggressive, nor did i see many stupid trashed kids either (though there were a couple, which is impossible to go to space and see none). and i don't know why but it seemed like no one could stay still! i was in my spot for the whole night and i'd get interrupted every minute or so by someone who needed to get by. |
