As for Grondin-Vibe always being at Stereo.. that happens what, only a few times a year? And Stereo headliners start at what, 4-5AM? You can bet most of those 8000 ppl haven't even experienced that b2b booking, party due to those factors.

Well thats not my fault

Vibe is decent but I found his sound to be much like Grondin.. Sander would add a different element imo but Grondin/Vibe may make for a better fit all things considered.

So people if you had it your way who would you booked for Resolution 2008?

IMO...I really thought mr. PAUL VAN DYK was going to make his comeback at Resolution! However thats not the case...

Also since Mr. Dresden is allowed back in Canada...This would have been another great opportunity to book Gabriel and Dresden for this event.

Since all 3 Dj's havent been to montreal in over 3 years this would have been such an awesome opportunity...

Not only would the fans of montreal benefit from this but for sure PVD and G&D would have performed a special set due to there comeback you may say!

GABRIEL AND DRESDEN = house headliner

So what do you ppl think about set times? who's should bring in 2008?Who will steal the show?

Gabriel And Dresden were supposed to be @ Black And Blue and are not even part of the lineup anymore...



Sander Van Doorn will steal the show for sure. He wasnt known @ Bal en Blanc. People will go crazy.

You don't think there is such a thing? I think there is, every year has it's own flavor and 2007 I think was defined by people's acceptance of tech house. Some of the best records released in 2007 were tech house tunes, and so many DJs really made tech house a staple in their live set diet.

So, in my opinion, I think a suitably huge tech house name would have been a great idea music wise, business wise I admit it wouldn't be the smartest thing to do, to experiment with a new DJ at such an important party. I just think it would have been cool.

Also, another wacky and crazy idea would be to bring a few different artists that helped "define the sound of 2007" across different genres of EDM, trance, tech house, tribal, electro yada yada...

But ya, as Creator said it's all about pleasing the most people possible, we bitch and moan on here about the bookings not being fresh enough but it's a different world here than it is in Europe + L.A. etc, different scenes, different mindsets. Montreal is pleased one way, London another, etc.

For those of you that enjoy Steve Lawler, it'll be a fun party, but he doesn't make everyone happy.

this "dj that defined 2007" thing really confuses me

it's like you guys are talking in tongues...

My point was that if you keep things in perspective, and we talk about sounds that defined 2007, and the goal is to aim the masses, we could easily end up with this line-up:

Nelly Furtado, Body Rockers, MC Mario and Timbaland.

SO, I think it's great that they kept an EDM vision and have artists that represent genres like trance and tech house or even minimal (lawler is very minimal right now), which are still marginal, even if WE eat that stuff everyday.

The DJ that defined the sound in 2007 wasn't a DJ at all, but rather an emcee. Of course, I speak of the one and only MC Mario. Please book him for this event guys, please??
