I know how spoiled we are in LA! I LOVE IT!!!

I think Tiesto doesn't have the power gods on his side. First they shut him off at NYE... and then The power goes out at the Cow Palace!!!
Super suckage for him!!!

Atleast nobody threw water at him this time.... BUT I did see a few glowsticks that almost reached him from the seats.... I think I saw one that came within 10 feet of him... those bastards....

whoa!

Posted by vigvigler on May-28-2008 20:56:

Not that suprising.. I honestly would have expected more arrests, with the amount of undercovers I saw floating around. It's a given though, if your going to have a party at the Cow Palace, of course they are going to set up a sting operation. That's the only way they would let them throw a party there...

right after the back-up lights were switched on.

SKILLS just posted a myspace bulletin. i guess it's their first official statement since the event. pretty much confirms that power outage was pg&e's fault... and they'll throw a summer party in SF to make up for it..

Thanks to everyone that came out to etd.POP

A lot of people are asking questions about the power outage, for now this is what we know:

As soon as the power went out at 12:59 am, we contacted pg&e regarding the outage. They advised that there were outages on multiple grids and didn't expect the power to be back on until 3:00 am. The security and police on site then had to escort everyone out of the building for safety reasons. The power outage affected 7500 other homes and unfortunately happened during a 15,000 person event. I'm sure we can all relate to having our power out for hours at either home or work. The power outage was not the fault of the venue or the police shutting it down. It was the fault of pg&e. This event was fully permitted and and supported by the city to go until 2am.

We worked for over 6 months on this show and we are all really saddened that everyone had to go home early. Once pg&e releases and official report we will post a press release on our web page. If you have any concerns regarding the event, please email [email protected] we also fully encourage you to contact pg&e regarding your complaints as well.

We will be throwing a free party in the park in SF this summer to make up for the power outage. We apologize to those that do not live in this area and cannot attend, but hope to see you at future Skills events this year.

Thanks for all of the continued support.

Got this from another board:

Bay City NewsDALY CITY, CA -- Nearly 60 people were arrested on drug-related charges late Saturday and early Sunday during a sting operation at a rave party at the Cow Palace in Daly City, the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force announced today.

More than 115 police officers and support personnel from about 20 law enforcement agencies, including the task force and the Daly City Police Department, were involved in the undercover sting operation at the event, "etd.POP 2008," which was promoted as an electronic music festival.
Fifty-five adults and three juveniles were arrested on charges of sales of illegal narcotics or possession for sale of illegal narcotics, according to the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force.

Authorities seized more than 1,000 Ecstasy tablets as well as Ketamine, marijuana, methamphetamine and over $5,000.
The task force reported that patrons at similar events have used "club drugs" such as Ecstasy, GHB, Ketamine and LSD.
Daly City police Capt. Mike Edwards said that that the promoters of the event as well as management of the Cow Palace were notified in advance about the sting operation.
"The Cow Palace and the promoters of these events are all aware of what's going to happen and are all supportive of our efforts," Edwards said.
All those arrested were booked into the San Mateo County jail and were scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. today

Lol, thats true. 100% chance of swapping edm tracks and pretty high rate of getting someone with DJ experience. Then theres car pooling to shows.. man so many benefits.
