Hey, what's up? Nobody's replying? Come on people, we need your input... May 31st is gonna come faster than you think, and we need to have a place set up before that... People need to confirm what locations they are able to come to, as DigiNut was asking.

I, for one, am able to come both of the ones he suggested. Zam at Kipling and Queensway will be a little more difficult, since it's all the way at the other end of town, but I can accomodate. What about the others?

Let's hear it, folks: are there any confirmed guests who CAN'T make it to either Rixo (O'Connor & Pape, just south of the DVP) or Zam (Kipling/Queensway)? Anybody who's coming from the north or east that would need a ride? Anybody who could make it, but not until really late (like after 8)?

I'd prefer the Kipling location, but I'll make it happen for either. & if it's a nice day, I could do it on the inlines, but would prefer a ride as I'm a slave to the TTC.

The bottom line is that I want to try this food with those in the know to point out the way to enjoy it properly, and spend some time with quality people, who know quality music to boot.

Looking forward to this, so once again, I'm in full on. But put me in the "I'd like a ride from the nearest subway station, or to be picked up on the way" group.

Cheers!

Either works for me....

Kipling one is like 10 minutes from my house...the Pape one is 10 minutes from my GF's house Works for me!

Location doesn't matter to me. I'd prefer earlier than later time.

Kamka, I love your excitement for this. I really cant wait to meet you.

As for location... I'm downtown. If Abercrombie is still able to pick myself, Barbina and who ever else lives nearby at Barbina's place then location doesn't matter. Otherwise, I vote for which ever location is most accessible by TTC.

Posted by FunkyCrew on May-06-2008 15:24:

ttc accessible would be good

Posted by jsibilin on May-06-2008 15:31:

I am coming from Oakville/Mississauga so I will be able to drive i think Vince and Ummie i think they are sauga.. either way I am willing to drive a few TA's .. doesn't matter where the location as long as there is one.

Can we not do this in like party room within some building in which some TAs live most of them have it in the P1 or P2 area.......We can order food and be there as long as we want type deal and it will accomodate lots and lots of people atleast 30 if not more.

Ever since this roll call was made, I have been thinking about how I would love to host this dinner in my backyard... it's pretty big, lots of trees, a hammock, two picnic tables, i could bring out more patio furniture... anyway, not happening since I live in bumfuck hammertown - but it was just a thought

oh and I'm down for anywhere - meeting up with the potastic peasants in Mrs. Sauga and heading wherever from there.

Guys, PLEASE. Brainstorming session is over. We're trying to narrow down the options now, OK?

--
Based on the responses so far, I think that Zam (near Kipling) is going to be the best location. It's possible to bus it, or you can hitch a ride with someone from Kipling station.

Any objections?

Miki - think we should wait until, say, 2 weeks before to make the reservation? And can you check what kind of parking they've got?

As for timing, like RJ, I prefer earlier. I'd really like to make this at 6 PM or 6:30 at the latest. I realize that some people may not be able to make it that early, but we're probably going to be there for a while, so I'm sure it's OK if some people show up at 7 or 7:30. They're not going to run out of food. However, I really have no idea what people's schedules are, so before we lock down the time, can I get an idea of how early (after 6) everyone thinks they can make it?

Finally, this means I'll be cruising down the 427, which is at the opposite end of the city from AJ. If there are people on the west end who can get reasonably close, you're welcome to hop on board. And since it appears to be only a 5-minute drive from Zam I'm sure I could grab a few from Kipling station as well.
