Independence for Scotland isn't a pile of crap the current Scottish Government has it as its principle policy.

At one point all parties have supported a referendum actually. The SNP is doing a great job of stirring up English resentment at perceived subsidised Scottish advantages. While also doing a very competent job at running Scotland.

Gorby overall was a better president than the things that Yeltsin and Putin have done. Yeltsin spent all the money while Putin hordes it all, controls/owns the media, nationalized the energy industry, etc.

So in the grand scheme of things, I would prefer Gorby over Putin/His puppet Medvedev.

Oh and MOST older folks preferred communism because they had no worries about living. Now they have to work till they die because they are poor as fuck.

if i had to wait in line at the post office for my crappy pension i would be pissed too...i don't know actually being in russia for a small amount of time is interesting. you'll be surprised at how people think about the "glory days." three years ago i was in moscow right before the big may day celebration and "celebrated" in st petersburgh. i felt like it was surrounded by communists...

as a child of course. i guess no one i was around hated on him, but everyone has his critics.

my only complain is that he could've made the transition a bit easier by not appointing an alcoholic to lead afterwards. talk about perpetuating stereotypes.

From a stress and worry aspect, I would wait in line at a post office for a crappy pension than have to bust my ass till I am literally dying. Not that I won't be working in some form or fashion till I die, at a certain point, you have done your time.

And yeah there is still a lot of people that wish communism was still around.
