Would it help if I create an alternate link with say, sendspace?

Alright guys!

Here's my mix.

Hope you all give it a bash or as many as possible. As you can see it's only a short one, just over 30 minutes. I now realise I love 2562 as you can see by the track selection.

Loved the beats from the Italo Disco mix so I was bouncing to that.
Currently listening to the Progressive Trance mix.
Going to give the chill out mix a spin tonight.

Hmm I wish your mix was longer as I was actually looking forward to it more than most of the other ones.

Gonna try and listen to as many of these as possible, just been distracted recently.

Just a quick note to say I will be listening to your mixes in the following week. I haven't listened to anything yet as work has been super hectic.

I'll be giving some sort of comments on every mix I listen to.

I really enjoyed your mix. Flawless as expected. At least from what I could tell.

Thought it was a great mix but that it should have been longer. There's so much dub techno these days that I doubt finding more music woul've been difficult. Also it just sort of cut out for me at the end. Thought it was really nice while it lasted though, both the music and the way it was mixed.

I recorded mine last weekend but I'm not really convinced with the end result. Anyone up for seeing the tracklist via PM and commenting on it before I post it?

I'm thinking of recording a new one with different tracks I found over the week but I wouldn't be able to do it today.

@zejay - that mix wasn't really dub techno, except for king in my empire, which is a really good selection. what you have played is mostly 'dubstep', breakbeat oriented music which has more to do with the jungle than with techno. admittedly the distinctions can be blurred, but generally you can think of dubstep as jungle with dub techniques applied to it, and dub techno as techno with dub techniques applied to it.

also, too short!

it's good to hear a bit of feedback. i took the advice from that other thread about dub techno and i'm really quite puzzled about the distinction.
It's so difficult to try and distinguish sometimes. I took a lot of the inspiration from this from your mixes taht you posted me a link to. The Audion track was personally chosen from your mix. I would love you to point me to a singular track where you could say "THIS IS DUB TECHNO".

I'm a massive fan of Bare Files, a dubstep mix website and i would say i'm relatively familiar with a lot of the dubstep artists but I chose most of these tracks with the mindset. "this isn't what i've heard before and it has a more 4/4 beat so it must be Dub techno".

Would still love people to check out the mix as I worked my tits off on it and I really appreciate the advice from your thread.

Cheers again.

J

(ps, longest post on TA ever)

Like I said, that rhythm & sound track "king in my empire" is pretty much the definition of dub techno.

anything on their burial mix/rhythm & sound labels is, really

there's a lot of crossover so I don't want to give you the wrong impression that there is some holy grail of dub techno. it's sufficient to say that a lot of the tracks in the mix you did have their roots in jungle, as dubstep, rather than in techno. it really doesn't matter, because it's a good mix either way, but since you're new to it I thought maybe I should point it out.

I haven't, I'm just not sure if I'm going to use the one I already recorded or record a new one either today or tomorrow

Posted by david.michael on Mar-23-2009 15:05:

I still plan on doing mine (dubstep). I've been putting together my tracklist, but I haven't had a chance to record it yet. I've had a few family emergencies to deal with.

Posted by cmay119 on Mar-23-2009 18:11:

yep I'm still in as well. Just been busy lately.
