I love latkes, but I never make them at home because the stench of fried potato and oil permeates for 2 full days. But yeah, a stack of those bitches with sour cream and/or apple sauce FTW.

Will your job improve because you learned the parent company's native language? Most likely not. In fact, tier 1 German companies are proficient in English. You might impress the German waitress at the bar, but in terms of career changing skill, there are better use of your time.

Yes it will. You could be offered a high position or maybe even a permanent position IN Germany. Regardless if they speak English with you or not. Their clients may or may not but possessing that language is going to open extra doors.

Learning any skill opens extra doors. My argument is there are better marketable skills to learn than a foreign language. Depends on your profession though.
