In fact, 1998 was listed in the dance music press as the year of trance and the over cheesey trance tracks that started coming out in 1999 led to death of many trance clubs and the scene as a whole.
Those "why 99 was so good" mixes you've posted actually contain a very large number of tracks that were hammered in 1998, and I know because I've got a ton of them that I played at that time (in fairness on white label or promos though).
And that includes natious - amber, of which I have the original black label promo. It was one of the tracks in Sasha's sets during the late festival season of 1998. Even thought the official release wasn't until early 1999 it had been hammered to death by him and few others before 1999 even rolled around.
Don't get me wrong, lead times from promo to release are way shorter or in most cases don't even exist anymore but if you're going to bang on about 1999, at least talk about tracks that weren't caned in 1998, when trance was still decent.

The release I remember buying (on amato in may 1999) was played by oakenfold in his June 99 essential mix, Van dyk @ i love techno in may 99 and sasha in april/may/june 99 aswell as him putting it on his GU Ibiza comp in 1999. Pete tong also stuck natious - amber on his essential selection Ibiza com in 1999.
Show / name me a set that Natious - amber was played in 1998....

What are you talking about here? Trance didn't die in 1999, it actually PICKED UP and became more popular, not just some underground east Berlin rave party anymore. Electronic music is the fastest evolving genre of music on the planet. Ten years from now you probably will not recognize trance music as it is today. Trance records sold in the millions in 1998-1999, THIS WEBSITE came to be as a result of that wave.

And it's not about promo collecting or any other such bullshit - I know what i'm talking about, rather than scouring long past essential mixes for some glimpse of a time gone by, I was actually there and the buying records I heard in the clubs. I spent 95 to the end of 99 clubbing nearly every weekend, both in London and up north for the larger events. I stopped because trance became so over cheesey in 1999.
Sure it got "more popular" but the tripe that started getting played in clubs, like Braveheart and out of blue just killed the music and the scene along with it. It as the beginning of the end for the UK club scene, where trance was concerned. So many clubs shut in the following two years.
People who didn't live through it, or got in to EDM later just don't understand but I've had countless conversations on here with a lot of people i respect (who also DJ'd/ clubbed through that period) who concur with my sentiments.
As for Natious - I'll try to find my mix tape from late 98 but quoting MOS comps isn't exactly cutting edge music - they've always just rounded up hits of the previous year. Hardly a good indicator or was "new" at the time.

I was pointing out that the Amato release in 1999 just happened to coincide with a lot of DJs playing it in 1999.
Yet there is no track list which can show said track was "caned" in 1998 by Sasha et al.

The pic you posted isn't the promo I have. It's a plain black sleeve, with with a black label with just two words on the label: Natious Amber. It doesn't even denote the mix and the other side is just a blank black label. I'm only assuming it's a amato becuase they did the first release and my mate who worked at bar vinyl in camden where I got it, used to be really tight with the guys from amato so I was lucky enough to get some small rum promos.
And you have PVD mixes there that are recorded long before the release date, so maybe you need to concede there may have been a promo out well before the release date of the end of may?
Anyway, I really don't care for this argument and I'm not going to apologise for having a promo that, for some reason I cannot fathom, you're "jealous of".
