He's right though, the only reason people still come in here is because there's some sort of narrative, familiar faces, familiar stories, a sense of freedom. No one even listens to trance anymore. You start to censor people and it all goes to shit. If you can't handle it get the fuck out.

Nobody's being censored or asked to "play nice" though, only asked to keep the bullshit to the threads they start in. How does it help the mood around here when people (MYSELF INCLUDED) are constantly dragging shit from one thread into another??


I see that all you want to do is continue to start shit and get your digs in. How about you contribute some solutions instead of trying to get things heated again?

I think that there is a general misunderstanding of the issue at hand here. Nobody is trying to censor anything in this forum with these new ideas. IF these ideas were put in place as actual rules, you would still be able to call someone's wife a dirty old cunt, you could tell Jenny that she's a worthless pile of shit - anything you want that is already within the boundaries of what is acceptable in the COR will still be allowed.

These new ideas essentially just limit the amount of flaming going on here. I, for one, love the freedom and lax moderation that is allowed here, but the problem with that form of moderation is that it allows the forum to essentially become one giant argument. That's what happened here, that's what happens every few months, that's what these rules are designed to diffuse. Arguments and free speech are fine, but massive forum-wide bitchfests are tired and pointless, and will be eliminated.

There's no need for solutions. Things are ok as they are, and it would be ideal if they stayed on this path instead of taking a turn for stricter modding. I even spoke out against you and Eric getting suspended if you missed that bit.

Yeah, because stricter modding will mean people like you in the peanut gallery will have to come up with your own shit to stay involved - because you won't be able to chase the drama around and add your digs.

What's wrong with keeping a massive bitch-fest quarantined to one thread (all threads like that get locked eventually, so putting a "time limit" on it isn't that big of a deal) rather than having six or eight threads about the same fucking argument, some of which started out with interesting discussion only to be destroyed?

It's a small rule whose impact you really wouldn't see, and is designed to increase the quality of posts here. Again, if you want total anarchy and asshats, go to 4Chan.

Not a all, I understand what you guys are talking about. The thing is that these forum-wide bitchfests are part of the narrative, I also happen to find them amusing and sometimes hilarious. I'm sure some people would side with me on that. Stop worrying so much about "diffusing" anything.
