Show me the figures. His approval rating is through the roof, despite what a very vocal minority would have you believe. Many Americans will rally 'round the president in times of crisis. They have an instinct to do so.

Polls indicate that 7 of 10 Americans support a LENGTHY war in Iraq. Not only that, but now MOST BRITONS support the war as well. Where do you get your propoganda from? The Alliance to kill all Jews? Al-Jazeera (which has been banned from the NYSE)?? Saddam himself? You need to find some new sources of info.

Hey, at least I can disagree with El Kay Dee, or converse (because I'm sure that there are many things on which we do agree) without resorting to insults like that.

Of course 7 out of 10 AMERICANS are gonna support a war on behalf of them. This war will benefit the "american way" why wouldn't they support it?

For the 3 out of 10 Americans who have a WORLD based thinking and can understand that the rest of the world suffers for the betterment of America the number is actually pretty high.

And to reduce arguements to personal attacks is pretty weak man.

polls are the ONLY indicator of public opinion...no matter how the stupid questions are phrased...people against war would say so in a Gallup poll...so polls mean a lot more than you could probably imagine..

I'm all for peace, I really am, but this is fucking ridiculous. You peacemakers need to actually start showing some facts to support your argument instead of just telling us to "look at the facts." Yes I realize that some of the pro-war campaigners are also being assholes, but the anti-war nugacity is the worst. Stop trolling and grow up. If you don't have evidence to support your arguments then please, don't bother presenting them.

I don't want war, but I don't want Saddam either. The man is completely off his rocker and nobody in this thread has presented any reasonable way of dealing with it. I would have loved to see a coherent discussion form out of this thread, but people have now resorted to personal insults.

Yes polls and statistics are what we use to gauge public opinion. The thing about them though is that they can be manipulated to prove alomost anything. Not to refute the stat that the majority of people in North Amerca support what in MY opinion is a unjust war.

As far as opinion goes everyone is entitled to it. However when someone states that THEIR opinion is right and everyone elses is wrong is a rather self centred "I'm smarter than you" idea. From your last staement it seems that you also have lots of anger towards the arab world which can cloud opinion. We must undertsand that everyone has an opinion based on their personal beliefs. To close yourself to opposing ideas is closing yourself out to knowledge.

Heres to education! Its gives people the confidence to say that they are more well informed than others. Good for you! You have a Poli Sci degree. I got one too (mass communications to be exact)! But a degree doesn't teach you how the real world works. Being impartial and allowing yourself to consume facts from ALL sides is what life is really about and what university really teaches you.
