That said, I generally won't bother to see someone big when there are others on the lineup, especially if it's a festival setting a la the GD show at Red Rocks. Sound quality usually suffers, crowd is too varied, and the sets are always too short.

I'd change my feeling in a heartbeat if they were allowed to do all-night events at Red Rocks.

I disagree. The sound has been fine at Red Rocks the last couple of years, IMO. It's never too packed in there, so you can move around, which I like. I will admit that the sets could be longer, but it's cool to see a wide range/variety of djs, even if you sometimes wished they were playing longer. Plus, I get so plurred out at GDF, that it doesn't matter.

Two days until TwoSum. Should be a blast!

Oh just go cause its a Red Rocks. Out doors events are always fun. And there is always plenty of room to dance since the step seeting is pretty big. The last time I went to a red rocks show was Rave on the Rocks 2000. I wish they had the same kind of set up here.

Make sure to tune into Digitally Imported today. 2pm EST get ready for the "A State of Trance" 200th Episode! This 4-hour XXL edition features the megamix of tunes requested in the arminvanbuuren.com forums, a Gabriel & Dresden guestmix, and Armin himself recorded live at the ASOT #200 party at Amsterdam's Museumsquare last weekend.

I would actually be rather curious to see armin or even ferry at red rocks.

And even though I'm sure it's not gonna sound all that as a live vocal set (a la IIO), lookin forward to see Motorcycle (any noodle references will be met with a swift and rather terrible death).

Was out of country for the last red rocks, so definately gonna be makin an appearance at this one.

Declining to participate in any actual discussion in this "discussion forum," Mitiska comes through in the clutch by using it as his own personal billboard.

Sorry Mr. Faded I won't be excited for an upcoming event that was being discussed, btw why do you have my sig as yours?

From the few gigs I've been to my favourite would have to be last years GDF. Ferry Corsten's show at the Church a while back was ruined to a horrible crowd and from what I've been hearing lately, you don't get to much of a difference on most other nights. I can't think of an ideal location for a show but it would easily be outside.

I wouldn't miss AVB if he were to show up at Red Rocks in July! And hopefully Motorcycle is better then IIO live. However, I doubt it.

I wouldn't miss him now either, ASOT 200 was fucking retarded good, Armin's always mixed well but it's amazing how he pulled off a techno-ish style mix in terms of track layering, and made it sound absolutely superb. Trance is probably one of the hardest genres imo to layer properly as the clash in synths is usually unbearably horrid, but the whole mix sounded like one flowing track. I'm in fucking awe, lol. The Darkside of the Moon -> Made Of Sun -> Satellite mix could very well be the best mix I've *ever* heard, fuckin 3 deck'd bastard lol. Trance DJs have been so boring lately, but this completely rejuvenated my interest in it. Even PVD is sounding better now, lol. And shockingly his mix of Say Hello was pretty good for the most part. But in my experience his crowds are some of the worst here.

Ferry's shows were always pretty good when I went, aside from him playing Punk every visit. But the crowds are just horrible at the Church now though, and Vinyl's pretty much the same-and it is just getting worse as time goes on. I'm looking forward for GDF just b/c there'll be some fucking room to move, something I haven't seen at an event in as long as I can remember.

You can be as excited as you want for an upcoming event, but I think it's just to be expected that the only time you ever post is to glorify yourself. That's all.

Story time. Did our COTAs hold up under the pressure? Our party wasn't what it should have been, but the rain really fucked us, being as we had to shut our main (outdoor) stage early.

July 16th we'll be having our follow-up, Threesum, with TA dj/producer Kenneth Thomas. I had the opportunity to play with, and get to know, KT a little bit at Ultra and he's a great dj/guy. He has a charisma that I've seen in very few djs, which I'm sure will lead to him making great strides in the next year or so. You definitely don't wanna miss this one.

So much so...you had to say it twice...

But seriously...having heard Avalon's sound system...you hear tracks as they were meant to be played. They have the most gorgeous bass I have ever experienced...never blown out...and the levels are perfect.

maybe they're finally realizing we don't have such a shitty scene as one might think...the atl ta's were shocked we got some quality dj's comin out here. but they're a bunch of n00bs!

The Denver scene is actually thriving, and we get all of the best djs out here. This month, I believe, we have Nick Warren, Steve Lawler, and Zabs (and that's only our Thursday night line-up). I haven't been to the Avalon, but I'm not into ridiculously loud sound. Like Space, in Miami, for example. I won't ever go there again, without earplugs. Just destroys your ears. The Church has pretty solid sound, and so does Vinyl, and they don't completely retard your hearing. Definitely down to hit LA sometime fairly soon, as well as Vegas. One of my buddies hit a $5000 jackpot at a local casino and took two of my other friends to Vegas. They're heading to Ice for PVD, on Wednesday. Guess he got listed and shit too. I need to make a Vegas trip, soon.
