It was matey, in fort william, even attempted the Ben Nevis walk, got 1500ft up, which was good for a first ever walk in my life, in jeans and too much clobber.

The surroundings though are so spectacular!

I know the set I turned it was not perfect.... so there you go.

My prog set I made last week is pretty damn close though. I highly recommend it, I think it is noticably better than my competition mix.

EDIT: here is the link

I'll try to give it a listen.

Got all the mixes listened to and my voting has been done.

May I just say that after a slighlty shaky start to the comp and the FTP faults at first, this has been a superb competeion and my thanks go to the organisers for making it so.

Until this comp I wasn't a trnce music type, it was fine in certain surroundings but i preferred the more dark, ambient stuff. But this has really made and helped me appriciate it alot more.

Now, I will spend 5 minutes sending my votes to Sphere, and over the next week or so, my comments to the competetors.

Don't be offended anyone if i come across sonding rude or subjective, it's merely a view, an observation. All the mixes had good points, alot had great points, a handfull had unforgetable moments of genius, some had points the mixer wishes he had edited lol.

It's all part of the fun and the thrill, I loved judging, and hopefully, next time, will compete in a free for all mix with an FTP getting sorted out (tOast?)

Nice one you lot!!!!!!!!

don't worry mate, im my own worst critique, and you noticed that when you wrote me that pm you sent me.

cheers for the feedback.

listen to some of my newer stuff, its a bit better.

as for opening tracks, i ALWAYS do something special for these competitions. Last one was my stormy intro mix of Probspot - Blueberry, the one before I did DJ Commisad pres Dune - Emperor's Revenge, a nice little intro, which gets flowed into by salt tank's eugina. i can put that one back up one day if requested. tracklists are on my site (in my sig)

I'm just messin' with ya

Posted by DJ_Audun on Sep-28-2004 16:39:

OMG I can't wait for some feedback on my mix. I've never had any before because I don't have any webspace to host them on.

Posted by djsphere on Sep-29-2004 04:54:

I don't mean to make you mad or something, but usualy this competition had a delay of about 2 weeks Anyway this time, I'll try to post the rankings in time, maybe a day or two later. Look at the other DJ Competiton they should have posted the results on 1st of Sept, but they posted just a few days ago. It's realy hard for the judges to get all the mixes scored in time. Though, I already recived scores from mr2gti and I think that MrMarcellos, DJ.MD and lolas123 will send their results preaty soon. I don't know about the others: JayM said he'll try to judge but he's not sure he can to it, garlick hasn't sent any feedback in ages (I even pm-ed him twice) and a few days I asked Ken_Allen if he is still up for judgeing so I'll know that I should wait for his scores or not and this is what he said:

quote:
Mad fucking boring listening to all these shit sets...but ok, I'll still judge.

Even if he does judge, I won't take his scores in consideration, this should be fun and fair to all DJs, not just a quick listen to every set a few marks, that probably won't reflect the true.
So it looks like from those 7 judges, we'll have scores from 4 or 5.

Posted by DjCommisad on Sep-29-2004 11:36:

i can wait. i encourage everyone else to BE PATIENT, as well.

It's tough to sit there unbiased and give these sets their due listening, its hard to sit there and listen to 17 sets, each say 40-80 mins each, meaning almost 20 hours of listening, just one time through.

Last competition we had only 2 judges hand in scores, and thus there were a lot of ties and only 1 judge gave back any feedback (although he did a great job in doing so, and i appreciate mr2gti giving feedback already!). So if you want more feedback, better feedback, and more accurate scores, give these guys some time. be patient.

i know i don't care if i come in first or last, what i look forward to the most is the feedback and the comments, "i liked this, but i didn't like that" (although i already know most of the things that i'll get scored on badly anyways because they are the same things that bug me, hehehe).

its tough to be patient, heck im eager myself, but let's give em a chance to do it right mates!

Posted by Rockabye on Sep-29-2004 11:47:

hum...maybe the judges could send out their comments on october 1st for the mixes they have finished and the scores will come out when everyhting is done?

Posted by MrMarcellos on Sep-29-2004 17:14:

problem..

my laptop broke.. so i need 2 know how many mixes there are to judge.. so i can do the last ones as fast as possible.. sorry for the problems..
