I have changed the tracklist and labels/add-ons. I don't want to get in a huge discussion over this since I admit upfront I mix mp3s, some acquired legally through sites like audiojelly, beatport, etc, some edited by myself, or produced with wesley doing a majority of the work, or cdr's (mp3 versions) from acquiantences such as the Spekuless track. The andy moor remix is not a cdr andy moor or anyone gave me, I'm not about to start throwing around CDR on every single track I have that is of questionable acquisition, and I don't believe I've ever done that in a cavalier style at all (in other words maybe once or twice that I can't recall - but I don't go around CDRing every single track that I have play).

If you want to continue this kind of discussion and flame the crap out of me, my PM box should have sufficient space, so go ahead. I've heard it all, and I'm not really going to defend myself either.

I do however want to take this moment to thank Angelo for having me up there, it's always a pleasure. A special thanks to Elena for showing up, and to the unexpected duo of Gavin and Caleb, for not only doing the commercials (which I thought was hilarious when Gavin pretended to be me) and for making me laugh whenever I messed up (which was often!). I had a great time even though I messed up a lot, but I had a lot of fun and I hope those who tuned in had fun too! A special thanks to Wes for recording the show and tracklisting it for me.

That's fair. I expected something harsher from you though Timur. I'm disappointed.

Either way I don't expect to be going up to CJSF for a long time again. I've just been getting way too much (admittedly deserved) negative feedback because of the choices I've made and I think I'm just going to drop and cut back on stuff from now on.

I will admit one thing in my defense, I have never played a track I was given that I wasn't supposed to (to my knowledge both as of being told not to and that of my memory to recollect). I know one person who gave me a track once by mistake, I have never ever played that track because I was told not to.

As for playing tracks I'm not supposed to have, well, that is weak. I guess I just plain suck. Hence why I'm cutting back on any mix releases, live mixing, etc. I have also taken down all shared sets and tracks. There will be no more posting of mixes from me. I may still share some privately, if asked. The live CJSF shows will be deleted in about 15 mins.

Enjoy.

Well, I'm just sick of it. Without that guy around that got caught saying he played nothing but vinyl and promos and everything was cdr by max graham playing one of his tracks he shouldn't have, there's no one else to flame but me. Some people I know have to suffer listening to others bitch and complain about me and the choices I make. So I'll make their lives easier as well as my own by just disappearing.

In all fairness

I just HATE to see my friends get ripped off

Took me a second to realize it was you. What's up Shawn!

one should not stop what they like doing just because of some things a few individuals have to say. a lot of the time, things are blown out of proportion one way or another anyway.

people never follow what they preach. mp3 this, mp3 that. yet, probably more than half of the users on this board used a pirated version of windows to post their hate on piracy. now, isn't that ironic?

purchase the tunes that you can afford. attend a party or two for the weekend without breaking the bank. if you are trying your best to support your favorite tunes, artists and promoters, then you have already done your part for the industry.

in the end, most get into music because of passion, not dollar signs. if you are having fun, thats the key to it all.

my $0.02

Amen

My 2 cents:
if you have a track and u want to give it radio play, why not?
if it hasnt been released but its good, this just gives peoplea chance to listen and then hopefully go support that artist.

if you are spreading tracks through free downloading, then you justly deserve a hassling. i doubt anyone is going to rip any secret track off CJSF and use it for rebroacast... their stream is just too weak and low quality.
so playing things is ok just dont spread it for free.

i usually stay away from discussions like this, but, what exactly constitutes a 'track that you are not allowed to play'?

well according to some people, apparently, its any track you don't have sitting in your vinyl crate. the other end is any track an artist has shared with you that they have explicitly asked you not to play until they give you the ok. the third suggestion is any track that you're not supposed to have (ie illegally downloaded mp3). it seems until i have a cdr box like big djs and a vinyl collection the size of a closet, i'm going to get ripped into. *sigh* Ah well, as one person said to me earlier, life's too short to sit here worrying about what every single person has to say. i've got some studying for school to do.. yeah, isn't summer fun spending it indoors?
