i had an effing ball, not that i can remember any of the nite, was tood runk by the time it was our turn to play, but had a ball playing there, system was wicked in the young guns room, much better than the young guns rooms of the passed, and adam bartas had absolutely packed out the young guns room before us, so we played to a pretty decent crowd which was good.

main room was great, eddie wasnt as good as he was a couple of years ago, above and beyond smashed it though, they were surpisingly good, cosmic gate were good from all reports, i cant remember much after 5am

didnt get to here much of the other dj's, i think i spent more time in the artist room talking about soccer to eddie halliwell his manager and corj finjeman

There needs to be better protection for cab drivers in this country. I hear another driver was bashed in Eltham last night and is fighting for his life. People make me sick with their pathetic behaviour. They need those bubbles like they have in Sydney!

well....he should have picked up the first person who asked instead of knocking back people until he gets the violent customer..or something...

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Oct-09-2006 04:59:

yeah. or should learn the fucking city so he doesnt drive around in circles. no wonder they get bashed.

Posted by gumble on Oct-09-2006 05:01:

While I totally agree with all you said, I'm not quite as sympathic as I was. After the Petter gig I wandered around the city in the rain for a 3/4 hr trying to get a cab. I had three who stopped, said where are you going , when I said Prahran they just drove off and left me standing in the rain!! I got in before the last one had time to ask. He was good , no silly questions about where I'd been etc. I always tip well if they don't talk to me!!

i always try and engage hte taxi driver in conversation (if they can speak english), i've heard some interesting and bizzarre stories over the years, like the political message behind System of a Down lyrics, the Evils of US foreign policy, 'why the fuck am i working this shit job?', and horror stories taxi drivers have had with drunken idiots, etc

always a good way to kill time

That's great when I'm going out but not when I'm coming home at 6 in the morning. Actually last night the cabbie had the BBC Africa on,and it was quite amazing to listen their news without the filters we get. Not a happy place

Better protection?
One of the headfuk taxi drivers we had on the weekend is lucky he escaped with no real injury!
I can now really sympathise with people who want to bash the fuk out of some taxi drivers.

YES, some violence is uncalled for, but if any of you had the driver I had on the weekend, blood could have easily been shed!

on the way out of QBH we hailed for a taxi and the idiot nearly caused two accidents trying to pull over, then was beeping for us to come back, we ran away and got another one....fkn idiot!

Posted by gumble on Oct-09-2006 06:18:

im sick of all the new generation of taxi drivers.

BRING BACK THE OLD GREEK GUYS!

they know their way around, and are always good for a yarn.

now its all these damn indian and asian student drivers. they dont know the most basic of directions (and fuck, its adelaide, its SMALL) and can hardly speak english. ahh no tips for you bastards.

Posted by Anomyst on Oct-09-2006 06:35:

Some pics i took on the night, there are another 500 uploading. lol!

You go in the taxi before telling them where you wanna go. Avoids bastards driving off if the fare isnt gonna be that big.
