RE: Masonious
yeah I had a circuit trainer come up to me after I had already done 5 sets of squats and was now on quad extension doing like 285 lbs and just trying not to puke
so after a set of this Im sitting there, dripping sweat, trying to catch my breath and not throw up and this guy says in a frantic queer voice
"can i get on that" with wide unblinking eyes.
I slowlllllllly get up because I can barely move and he INSTANTLY slides in and changes the weight from 285 to 30.
however, before he starts he points at the 1x2 sticky square that says "do not occupy machine between sets" and says "Do you see that?"
He was tubby and sooooo annoying. He almost got slammed in the fuckin nose.
Then he did about 60 fucking reps on 30 lbs and goes back to other machine.
So I hopped on and did the same weight he was doing and did crazy number of reps going sloooooowly up and slowwwwwlllllly down and was almost whistling. made the guy wait like 5 minutes.
it was petty but so wonderfully spiteful.
also, if I ever see him again Im going to walk into him on purpose. see if I cant get a nice little scuffle going.

my biggest gym pet peeve happens to be groups of worthless girls. worthless because they do all their excercises wrong and/or use next to no weight AND while wasting their own time they are also wasting mine by occuping a machine or area in the gym. i'm a girl too but i've never found it productive to travel in a herd with my friends at the gym
so i'm doing this fitness thing w/ my squadron. we're doing one million pushups. we have 100 peple, so if we each do 100 pushups a day for 100 days, we'll reach our goal [that's 10,000 pushups per person over a 100 day period].
it's really not any kind of strenuous workout or anything. most of the time i get it knocked out at work anyways. but it's kind of cool to see so many people going towards one goal.
but little things like this can be fun and motivating and can help out your fitness level [even if its just a small bit]. you'd be surprised the amount of different variations to do such a simple exercise too.
i know, personally, i'm not a fan of the gym persay. mainly because it seems like too much emphasis of working out at the gym is geared towards weightlifting, which is something i'm just not really interested as far as fitness wise.
i dunno if anyone else feels the same way, but doing simple things like pushups/situps at home are a good way to exercise and are so simple, they can be done on a daily basis....even at home/work.
Fucking gym is closed this week (school gym, spring break).
I have a huge open blister on my toe that I'm trying not to infect, so running is pretty much out of the picture.
I'm basically sitting around on my ass all week, and I'm not happy about it.
I just realized (from people telling me) that my lats are over developed because they over-compensate whenever I do shoulders or sometimes any upper body workout. Anyone else come across this problem too?

Herbs can be extremely valuable to a personal detoxification program. Some important herbs to consider in the process of detoxification include the following: Psyllium seed is a lubricating mucilaginous fiber used as a gentle bulking and laxative agent. Its benefits, however, go beyond a single action, as psyllium is adaptogenic, generally supporting healthy bowel function and used in connection with conditions ranging from diarrhea to irritable bowel syndrome. Psyllium is a particularly good choice for detoxification, as the gelatinous substance produced through soaking attracts and absorbs toxins. Cascara sagrada (Rhamnus purshiana) can be used as a natural laxative as well, alone, or in conjunction with psyllium. It is safe for long-term use and strengthens the muscles of the colon. Milk thistle. The liver is the body's foremost organ for detoxification. Milk thistle seed is commonly used to improve liver function by stimulating protein synthesis. It is also a hepatoprotective (liver protector) agent. Milk thistle is considered a natural antioxidant, helping to detoxify a wide range of potentially damaging contaminants, including drugs, alcohol, and a wide variety of chemicals. Nettle (Urtica dioica) has detoxifying properties that extend beyond the urinary system, but its diuretic action makes it particularly effective in this area. Overuse of nettle is not a concern as with juniper. Though the nettle root has the primary diuretic properties, all parts of the plant facilitate cleansing. Burdock root and seed (Arctium lappa) is similar to nettle in its cleansing and mild diuretic actions, but it is stronger in its effect. Accumulations of heavy metals within the body can be diminished with the aid of burdock. Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale) helps to cleanse and strengthen the liver. Dandelion root has a cleansing action that helps to remove waste from the liver and gallbladder. It works on the kidneys as well, and is a good choice to use in conjunction with burdock root as well as milk thistle. |
