Well he has proved (or maybe has been told by Whiskey nose) that he doesn't do it

Julio Baptista to A.S. Roma for 9 million. Good deal for them, but I find myself dreaming about the possibilities if he had never left Sevilla in the first place (along with Jose Antonio Reyes, Sergio Ramos, Dani Alves, etc.). They could have been something very special today.

Barcelona is supposedly looking for someone to fill the gap on the left. With David Silva signing a new contract at Valencia, the list of potentials includes Arshavin, Diego Capel, and Robinho, as far out there as it seems. Any thoughts? Should they even bother based on the players they already have who can play in and around the midfield?

Van Der Vaart could probably fill that role imo

Haha, I knew something was amiss, cause you were the first to respond when I posted his transfer last week.

Didn't Arshavin sign for someone in the Premiership? Newcastle maybe?

Maybe they were just trying to sign him but it was never finalised

Apparently, Spurs have been put off by his price-tag, even after it was lowered. Sad that he may not get his chance now to grace any of the top leagues in Europe.

Source: Link.

Silvestre sold to Arsenal

I have mixed feelings about him playing for the voyeur

Any gid?

he's a young star in the making. in america he's been overshadowed by freddy adu, but he's played well everytime i've seen him. i think vern really likes him. he's been on the U23 team and i think he's seen some time with the national team. i don't think rangers paid a lot for him and there's a high upside to him.

Maurice Edu is an up and comer in the MLS. I've been impressed when I've seen him play

Too bad he joins a shit team

WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!

/sarcasm

The only reason the media is making a big deal about this is because players hardly transfer between Manchester United and Arsenal. Garbage player who will still probably warm the bench behind, Clichy, Gallas, Tour, and Senderos.

Edit: Wikipedia confirms: The transfer makes Silvestre the first player to transfer directly between Manchester United and Arsenal since Viv Anderson in 1987.

Hamburger SV apparently say Vincent Kompany is to join Manchester City

Djibril Cisse & David Healy having medicals before becoming roy keanes latest in the 'mass signings hoping one or two players do ok' phase, aka copying spurs

Posted by jonze on Aug-21-2008 14:31:

that's almost double the offer they made.

'The president Ramon Calderon has promised Robinho that if the club is presented with an offer of 40 million euros he will be allowed to leave.'

I just came on to post this, but you beat me to it.

This guy has huge potential, and I think he could become one of City's better buys over the past 2 years.

yeah. Downside is that city now have 5 very good centre backs, ie. Dunne, Richards, Onohua, Ben-Haim and you could maybe count Corluka, alongside Kompany.
