I made it into L.A. The ride was very nice but there was a lot of fog when I landed which delayed me a bit.

I'm laying on my bed and when I look out the window I can see the Hollywood sign! Its making me too excited to sleep! I think I will go walking for a little bit then nap before the event.

Happy new years everyone...!!!! Will be heading out to L.A. from Fresno around 2:30p.m.

www.pillreports.com

Take them with a grain of salt, but if you read a lot of them, you can tell which are legit and which are "dealer reports."

Arf, I can't wait for tonight!

Just a question: will there be any locker where we could let our backpack T-Shirts etc.?

I suppose standard little digital camera (like panasonic TZ3 ->http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonictz3/) are ok

My first NYE in the US Awesome

I doubt there will be any locker where you could put your backpack/shirts... if anything they must be inside the VIP area. I'm not too sure though, maybe anyone else can confirm this?

Yes they will let you bring the digital camera in, esp. like the one you described!

Enjoy your New Years in US! This one is going to be awesome! Sports Arena is like a maze though, make sure you don't get lost Oh and it will be steaming HOT inside

I'm wondering if I can bring this digital camera of mine in too...

This is what it looks like:

Thx for the answers

For the locker, it would be great if someone could confirm this. I am asking, as usually in Belgian and Dutch events I went we always had lockers available.

I am sure it's gone be... LEGENDARY

One last question: is the Trance addict community having a gathering point there? We could all meet at one place if the Californian Trance Addict community is motivated

@Morpheus -> concerning your camera I have no idea. If it fit the compact category, I don't think they might bother you (normally...)

You should be OK. As long as it isnt a video camera.

Is there gonna be a TA meetup?

Thanks for your help, anyway.

How about all the TA's stay, if you can, and when Armin's set is over we can try to take a group picture, possibly with Armin too?

hahahaha... Wishful thinking girl! You'd be lucky if you could get a little TA meet-up!

Good idea tho, if you tie him up, I'll bring the camera!

Meet ups are very difficult within the Sports Arena, but maybe we could pick a section number upstairs and meet there at 2 am or something? Maybe someone who has been inside already could post a good section number with a decent view here?

We'll wave to Armin from there and he will wave back, of course!

Yop. It could be awesome. Does someone knows a place where to meet?

Is there any booth/stairs/corner or something we could meet in front of?

Posted by Waterproofpaper on Dec-31-2008 22:47:

I usually have my crew meet up @ a certain section. Both upstairs and down. The back is the best place most of the time because its less crowded. But who knows.

In this case, are they any stairs at the back we could meet in front of at 2am ?

Posted by morpheus529 on Dec-31-2008 23:26:

For those of you who got your tickets from Groovetickets will call:

"Our will call is going to be in the parking lot off Figueroa and Martin Luther King. We'll have our big black tents set up in the lot (the entrance to the will call line is facing MLK). The will call should be up and running by 6PM!"

Also, anyone have any food recommendations near USC and Sports Arena?

Posted by Fl1p on Dec-31-2008 23:48:

I will heading to the arena in about 1.5 hours.

Let's definitely do a TA meetup or something although I don't think I can stay 'til 4AM as I have to catch a flight back home to Vancouver early in the morning and my hotel is here in downtown LA.

I'm concern if there's going to be any taxi in around that hours...

See you guys all there

only an hour and a half to go...I'm ready for the best NYE party yet!

Posted by gmoney44 on Jan-01-2009 11:30:

hope you guys are having a blast!!! happy new year from the east coast..i expect a full tracklist tomorrow(later today)!!

Posted by Banora on Jan-01-2009 12:57:

!

I just got back to my hotel (after being hopelessly lost outside for a half an hour ahaha) and I had the most AMAZING time! I didn't use VIP very much because there wasn't anywhere to sit, you couldn't take any water out of there (wtf?) and while Armin is very handsome I didn't want to stare at his backside all night, so I moved myself waaaay up in the right hand-side of the bleachers.

I met some great people! The American dance community is much more friendlier than the European one (at least in my experience). It took some getting used to, having total strangers come up and touch on you and rub on you but I remember the advice that it 'doesn't mean anything'.

I was way overdressed but still managed to dance even with heels on. Some of the costumes were hilarious and some I worried that their stuff was going to fall out of, but everyone looked really comfortable.

My only complaint was some jerk snatched my camera! I managed to wiggle my way right to the barrier dead center of Armin. I caught his eye (while waving my camera) and he pointed at me, I took a picture and as I lowered it to put it back in my bag someone yanked hard on the wrist strap and it went away (which I know it was my fault, I should have worn the wrist strap, but in my haste to get a good picture of Armin and get out of there before being squished I forgot.

I immediately pushed people aside in the direction it was yanked to, I ducked on the floor (and tons of people stopped dancing to look on the floor as well) but it was gone. I was pretty upset for a bit, but then I decided I can replace the camera and take pictures from the internet, but I can't replace being at TAO, so I got over and enjoyed myself.

I hated being on the main dance floor. I don't really like being squished or feeling trapped like that. A few times I felt like I couldn't breathe which really upset me.

I'm sorry I didn't try to meet up with any TAers, but I was so high up and so far away from the VIP area, I didn't feel like battling the crowd. I'm so glad I decided to go.

Now its time for a shower and bed, I have an early plane.

omg...best set from Armin I've ever heard, and I've heard him a lot! . I have never seen SO many people at the Sports Arena either, even for Tisto in Concert! Armin Only NYE must have sold out?

Wow, I've never had my camera stolen, but I did drop one once ustairs at this very venue. Sad, but a great excuse to upgrade to the newest model. Still, I can't believe someone would steal another person's camera rightvin front of them! Has LA clubbing come to this?

Well, that's my parking lot update...hopeless traffic, just going to sit it out!
