Sandcastles (Pete Heller's Filtered Re-Edit, right?) ... . One of my all time faves. Is it Ferrer behind the decks?
If you'd like more (deep)house or funky house recommendations for this thread, check out my youtube fave's (PS; there's also some other none house music in it)

I lately discovered 'the Lovely Laura' (thats her artist name). She plays sax, very often during Hed Kandi live performances. I have some older HK sets (2003/2004 era) which are full of her playing the sax sax. Anyway, Lovely Laura also co-produced some tracks, (of course) on sax.
Her newest co-prod is really worth checking:

well i was told i should play what i like in way others will like

doesn't matter if you change genres

does not matter if you use old tunes

and it does nto matter that someone else used them

oh yeah!

"shit mixing, terrible track selection." ha ha.

As far as "other people played this tune before" argument - just let it flow. If you got the funk in your soul, no one will notice what songs you're playing and will just groove to the vibe.

I'm in love with Lovebirds.. anyone know if they're touring or anything? No tour dates on their myspace and RA only has 3 dates in the last few months.

I've been wondering the same thing myself.

From what I understand there's two guys involved on the project. one of them is Vincenzo (although I'm having a hard time comprehending the extent of his involvement) and the other dude is Sebastian Doring - some Norwegian (I think) dude whom I haven't heard a whole lot about.

I know Vincenzo tours by himself in Europe, and I'm guessing Doring does the same. But the amount of times they get together for a set is probably limited at this point. I would definitely love to see them drop an American tour, I think their productions are ace and everything I've heard recorded (there's actually a new one floating about in the Tracklists forum) was absolute bliss.

Let's hope for a couple of stateside shows in the future.
