I sent Shaun Reeves a message on Facebook (one of the people who runs Old Miami) and this is what he said about the question of whether Old Miami was happening or not:
"its happening 100%. was never cancelled and never will be

| Originally posted by The Highroller I've actually never been, but it's an outdoor afterhours on the Monday of the weekend that goes all day. The DJs are the same guys who did the Get Lost party in Miami, which was the best party of the entire conference by a long shot, so I'm definitely checking it out this year. They don't announce the full line-ups, and usually you get a couple of headliners from DEMF showing up unannounced to play. |

Based on what I've heard, it's an eccentric crowd with lots of hilarious antics and really good music all day. In for that too ...

Thinking that we're going to book a hotel in Windsor instead of tha D'. Convenient being on the U.S. side, yes, but Canuck hotel rates are considerably cheaper and we won't have much need to be in Detroit after the fest closes each day, since we won't be hitting up any of the afterparties (12 hours/day is more than enough for us old folk!).

I have friends who've done it in past years without much hassle - is what you're telling me based on personal experience, or just conjecture?

Hotel afterparties FTW! Exactly 50 days left |

I've never been so I cant tell first hand but just from browsing detroitluv, rhythmism forums I've read that some people think it hasn't been as good since 3-4 years ago

| OM is a getting a little played out - last year was kinda weak..... |

| Originally posted by She_Fitz Obviously to each their own but if last year was any sign of it losing its magic - I can't even imagine what it would have been like at its prime. It is the party that made the biggest impression on me in a very long time. I would even say it was the best $10 I spent all year. That and the fact that it is probably the first party that these guys will all be together for since Get Lost is reason enough for me. |

People on the detroitluv boards bitch about everything though.

Costumes and over the top ridiculousness is very encouraged. Some one had a Marshmellow Bow and Arrow last year... LOL |

Has the Ricardo speculation even hit this thread yet?
I have heard very strong rumbulings from some of the crews in NYC that he will be at DEMF.
Apparently, Tania Vulcano confirmed in Miami that Ricardo will be making his long awaited appearance in the US this year.
