Dude...I HATE when clubs push the sound up too high...and the bass gets blown out and it just sounds like shit. Avalon is like...smooooooth. The bass is smooth and rolling.

You guys should definatley come out and try it.

And it does seem you guys are getting all the same big acts we are this summer

If i remember correctly the sound is just fine at the church and vinyl, and they bring out big names on a weekly basis, i don't think any club in LA/San diego does that every week. Denver's EDM scene > LA, Diego, Vegas, OC, AZ, its everywhere in denver. Plus there's two afterhours clubs that open at 2am till bout 4 or so that play edm, and DJ's have been known to spin at 2am after they're contracted gigs at Vinyl or whatever are over. Aside from the weekly events, theres also the massives like caffiene and GDF so denver's EDM is way better than the west side hands down, i grew up in CO and yes george acosta has gotten way better over the years

On another note, Dinaire and Blank & Jones will be at Avalon in August, so of course i will be there to expierience the sound that its known for.

I don't know too much about the scene in LA, but we do have a great scene. The only cities that I would say have a better scene, hands down, are New York, Miami, and, maybe, Chicago (but I'm not too into that house sound).

I heard it was mind blowing, and that came from a friend who simply doesn't like AVB, for whatever reason that is. If you haven't listen to his new ASOT 2005.. You should! Its great. Plus, he uses the Ableton Live in both cd's. Max Graham, Markus Schultz, Kyau & Albert, Gabriel & Dresden to name a few. However the first cd has too many vocals in my opinion but thats just me. The darker cd is the better of the two.

EH, I don't like it that much...the mixing isn't nearly what it is in ASOT 200; you won't understand if you don't listen. Besides, 200 is some of the best tracks of the last 4 years mixed into 2 amazing hours. I'm not really liking many of the newer trance tracks, ie most of the ones on ASOT 2k5/ISOS4.

I'd just say listen to 200.

Some of them are boring at times but I think trance in itself is becoming more mature. Anyways, I will have to download 200 I suppose, geez.. Ha

ASOT 200 is just ridiculus, of course armin's mixing is good as usual, but over 50 played out tracks stuffed into a 2 hour mega mix no thanks, plus if i have to hear andain beautiful things or motorcycle as the rush comes one more time im puking, its all requested tracks so it shows his appreciation to his fans, plus he always seems to have a connection with the croud which is key.

Oh yeah that whole acosta thing has been hilarious, i decided to fck with you guys because i can't stand it when bedroom dj's pick appart ones mixing style and track selection because you have your own opinion guys like acosta, although not the best, have clearly paid theyre dues to be steadily contracted to play gigs and get paid top dollar on a weekly basis, are you at that position? didn't think so. Acosta has been mixing hard shit lately thats why i listen to his weekly sets, but as far as my favorite DJ right now, its Victor Dinaire, i think his sets are better than lost world and ASOT put together thanks for reading

Sorry dude but thats bullshit...Tiesto is #1 right now and his mixing is shit, and his track selection is shit. I can name 100 DJs who would better deserve that spot. Alot of people like shitty music, that can make a DJ popular in no time...but some of us here who know the music know who the real proffessionals are.

Lol, do you not see that you're a fucking hypocrite, and that you do the same thing to Armin? As for played out tracks, I mean, seriously, what does Acosta play? If you tell me anything but overplayed tracks you're blinded by his chins. He just mixes worse. And none of us ever said we were at his level, if I were in his position I'd do it for the money but I'd much rather be a respected DJ. I mean, when Hybrid has in their album notes "aboslutely no thanks to DJ George Acosta," that shows he isn't even respected by others in his own fucking industry. What does that tell you? I'm not gonna ride Amran's jock or anything, but 200 was bar none the best thing I've heard from any trance DJ in quite a while (granted that's not saying much...)

But I guess we can agree on Dinaire, lol. Aside from ASOT 200, that shit has been boring as fuck IMO since like, epi 100 lol. Jon O' dropping Frenzy and the Mesh remix of Symbols for the first time ever was the shit!

I could care less who's pro or not, and i agree with you about tiesto, i don't like his sets or his productions, the dj list is just a big popularity contest.. it meens nothing, Although PVD and Ferry deserve to be up there. It all comes down to personal preferance, plus i never said Acosta was pro, i know locals who put him to shame, i just enjoy the hard shit he plays, and yes there are MANY small time dj's who put guys like tiesto to shame, but guess what? the small timers care more about the music rather than the popularity and money.

I'll give Acosta one thing. He produced some great tracks, in the old days, but I can't stand his monotone hard trance sets. Every track sounds the same and there isn't an inkling of set progression/degression. His mixing is actually alright, and he certainly mixes better than Tiesto, but he's a fucking asshole, so fuck him. I have no respect for a dj that thinks he's larger than life. I could play the same tracks as Acosta, better, probably 95% of the time. And I'm not a superstar, but I'm far from a bedroom dj, so that argument is shite. Sasha should be the #1 dj in the world, based on his mixing, production and innovation. The guy is constantly stepping it up to the next level. It's actually absurd.
