Wow! Get ready for a world of difference... While admittedly that's not as bad as the DJX 700, it's still Behringer, and comparing any Behringer mixer to any Allen & Heath mixer is like comparing a 1987 Ford Escort to a brand new Jaguar XK...

I was at Long & McQuade tuesday and the guys was tryin to push a DJX 700 on me ... I was like Berhinger , I dunno .... the did some research from you guys that were unfortunate euff to buy one .....

I just bought myself some stuff... finally

I just got the mixer so I would have one... I'll get something better when I receive it in the mail....

If you happen to notice the headphone cord, their attached to some headphones.

Nice setup

Tell me...Whats the pdx2300 mkII like to mix on?

Posted by Gunyouken on Nov-06-2005 08:06:

I can't exactly compare it to anything, I'm still learning.

Here is what I can see so far.
When you cue, I've been told to give the record a little push just to get it up to speed. You can't even give it the tiniest nudge on these otherwise the you totally over throw the beat.

The pitch bend function makes it much easier to beatmatch, I'm using it at the moment just to get my ears accustomed to 2 beats at different speeds.

If you stop the record on the slipmat, you don't have to worry about the platter slowing down, speed remains constant

So far, I'm very happy!

i love the pitch bend on my pdx's! the tone arm is crackin aswell, really easy to setup or adjust.

Here is my humble setup:

2 x Numark TT200 Turntables
1 x Final Scratch 1.5 Amp
1 x Behringer DJX-700
1 x Technics DH-1200 Headphones (still on its way)(currently using cheap pc headphones)

All this plugged into a set of Logitech ZX-680 Speakers (with 200 watt sub)

Nothing out of this world, but it's clean and does the job. Still learning to use vinyl, as I was lucky enough to have originally learned on CDJ 1000s........

You would have been better off if you learnt on TTs from the beggining.

It's a great mixer for the money, but it can't compare with the top dogs. If you're interested, I got one for sale for under $100 (check the for sale section on this site). Probably won't find any other 4 channel mixer that cheap. Most of the people that are down on the Behringer are trying to compare it to the best mixers out there, and don't realize that it's a good bang for the buck mixer. Highly recommended if you want cheap, but effective.

Posted by SpecRadio on Nov-08-2005 01:10:

TT200's have to be some of the worst decks on the market. They WONT hold a pitch, and the pitch is WAYYY to sensitive. You can lock the beat...come back 2 minutes later for cue it & up...it's wrong and you have to re-beatmatch

Just like was mentioned above, it doesn't compare to any of the REAL mixers out there. But it is definitely the best bang for your buck. It's made cheap, doesn't feel expensive, but hey, like I care, I am mixing in my living room. Some people tend to forget that........

As for the comment regarding the TT200s having problems holding pitch, you sure about that? I can't say I have had issues yet. I can hold 2-3 minute mixes just fine on it.....

The entire setup is very entry level, but it is what I am using to learn with.

As for the stand I have for the laptop, I bought it at Future Shop (aka Best Buy). It cost 19.99 CAN. Probably the best item on that table.............hahahaha

I love my tt-200 too.

yeah, if u can learn how to beatmatch on the tt-200s, then it will teach u how to correct mistakes and correct the beat when the wow & flutter kicks in more quicker and better. Now take those skills to a higher end TT and u'll be mixing with flying colors......hopefully.......

but learning on Technics in the beginning isnt a bad thing . in fact...it can be good. but the people who do have to also learn how to change to a turntable that isn't as good in case that time may come where they are asked to mix on them...

Posted by wee_rooney on Nov-08-2005 19:01:

i find i have to constantly change pitch when mixin on my tt200's aswell, where as i dont with my vestax! maybe they just start doin it through age or soemthin. theyr still very decent decks for the money though!

I put two of the same records together to where they had flange...but the flange would Gradually fade off by itself over like 30 seconds.

The flange doesnt "fade off", it means the beats arent matched the same anymore. not necessarily not beatmatched, just not the same.

Posted by A.J. on Nov-09-2005 05:27:

Are you talking about where you get that cool phasing effect with two copies of the same record?

Posted by InterMilan31 on Nov-09-2005 05:44:

The Behringer lookes expensive and top model like thats why I was wondering.

Not all decks are "zeroed" exactly the same, not even out of the factory.

Posted by Lassy on Nov-09-2005 13:50:

It's virtually impossible to have two the same tracks spinning at exactly the same speed on two different players.

There are so many factors which can have an influence on that. Wear and tear, dirt/dust, electrical bugs can all have an effect on the rpm of both players

Atomic clocks even have a small deviation…just imagine the deviation of dj equipment
