Sox win 17-1
Pretty good batting practice session, with 27 hits
Worst loss ever by the Yanks to the Sox in Yankees Stadium
Yeah. Boston is terrible. It's completely out of the question for them to win the division this year.
Boston blows the Yankees out one game and youre talking nonsense.
One thing I've learned about Shamus is that if your opinion varies from his, than it's moronic. I'm satisfied with my ten years of playing experience, a dad as a coach, following and loving baseball since 1984 when I was 8 years old, and fantasy teams currently in first and third in two leagues. I've never made a Mets suck comment because I never write about the Mets except when they are getting beat up by the Yanks.
One game sure isn't gonna make/break a season. Yankees last year lost 22-2 to Cleveland and won the next day.
But anyone that writes off the Red Sox at this stage is just as "moronic" as writing off the Yanks early in the season. You can have worries and question marks but you still got to ride the tide.
We'll see how the Yankees respond tomorrow. The Red Sox last year lost 19-8 and then won the next 4 games. So... we just have to see.
Plus, the Yanks threw Quantrill, Stanton, and Groom out there. Without question their 3 worst relievers. Not Sturtze, Gordon, Rivera. Yanks need to add another arm or two to compete there I think in the future but I think they'll trade for someone. Look at the Brewers, you don't need to get some overpriced overrated relievers. You can't get much worse than Quantrill and Stanton right now so anything is up.
Clement is 6-0 if at this point he is there ace, if they were to take one game it would be this one. I dont think by any means they are to be written off I still think they will win 92-94 games will that be enough for division NO, wild card probably not, angels will win 95.

He's being difficult...
I've never called anyone a moron. I have, however, called things that people say "stupid" or something like that. I guess I should realize that not everyone who posts here is as big a fan of baseball as you and I and Sal and whoever else.
See, Im not a huge fan of baseball, which is why I dont post in here that often, but unlike other people Im not a radical fanatic of the team that I like. You win some games, you loose some games... I just happen to be an avid fan of a team that wins an aweful lot.
Now, does anyone know of any stores that might have an authentic Don Mattingly home jersey? Ive looked it up, and the only ones I find are the Mitch & Ness replica batting practice jerseys and a bunch of autographed stuff.
I found a 1984 road jersey for Mattingly on the mitchell and ness online store going for $225

Thanks vern, sucks that they dont have the Home Jersey in my size.

the yanks/sox game was boring as heck. i'm not sure if i can make generalizations, but it seems AL games are a lot slower/go longer than NL games (they're different notions). perhaps it's having the DH, and having longer at-bats than pitchers, less sacrifices being employed, but i always complain about the lack of rhythm that AL games have. all the national league games i've gone to move around at a pretty decent clip. does anyone else have this problem when going to games?
(high scoring games add to this phenomen, but there can be exciting high score games, and not blowouts like the one i witnessed today at yankee stadium. that was a massacre, and quite boring.)
