nice stuff. though some are expensive, not all are very rare. but what matters is that u have them. i have 69 and the 4x12" too, costed me quite some money. but they're worht it

I don't have it quite yet, as it's being shipping from Germany; it should be here in a few days though. I found it on GEMM, total cost + shipping to the USA was less than $20 USD... I think that's a pretty good deal for this 12"! I'm also waiting for Marino Stephano - Free Time/Seven Hours, though I don't recall which release it is...

Regarding my collection, yeah, I do have quite a few rare records, but I'm sure there's plenty of people here w/ better collections, they just don't talk about it. I've spent quite a bit of time and money finding all these records, so I like to chat about them w/ other ppl

Unfortunately I haven't been into EDM long enough to really know what tunes are considered rare. And the fact that I prefer epic and melodic trance probably only serves to exacerbate the problem. Is that genre even old enough to have rare tunes?

It definitely is! Take a look through this Discogs.com list:

It's the list from the start of this thread, and does a decent job tracking the more difficult-to-find trance releases. Another way to find rare tracks is to search for the records on DJ mix cds by artists like Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Sasha, Oakenfold, etc. Lots of the records they've played on those mix cds are pretty hard to find. In the end, only buy the music b/c you like it, not b/c it's rare. Spending a ton of time and money to own records you don't enjoy will lead to frustration. Long live the vinyl!

Gotcha. I would love to have the Pulser mix of Eternal. However, I have the Vandit release with the Nu NRG and Thomas Datt mixes. That will probably have to be it for me. I'd love to find the V-One mix of In My Memory. That track just blows me away for some reason.

Hey mate, that track is not hard to find...I picked it up about 2 years ago, and I'm sure you can grab it on Ebay. (thats where I got it)

welcome to this thread my boy, you can learn a lot here
for very rare tunes, browse waxHead's discogs profile. though he collects more than trance, you'll find some rare epic/melodic trance tunes in his collections ...

to name another example of an epic AND melodic trance tune (and a classic too); lexicon 4 - reach me .. every single release of that track (or remix) is rare AND wanted, i think. right now, there are 2 releases of that tune on discogs. there were 3 in the past however. DaanMC, also a vinyl collector, had a 3rd release which was unknown for a time .. right now, that 3rd one aint on discogs anymore for some reason. anyone who knows the reason, plz tell me ...

thats eaxactly what i've learned too. in the beginning, i just collected what i wanted to have/won, regardless whether it was rare or not (i didnt even knew at that time what was rare and wasnt). after that, i got infected with getting some rare trance tunes. after a while, a quited with that. nowadays i only collect what i like (to play), and what i've always liked; you know, those all time classics you'll never forget .. and might play sometime.

Not sure if it's the Fog Area Trance release or the Heaven Beats Records release. I saw it for cheap so I bought it, didn't pay attention to the release label. The tracks are exactly the same, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Forget Jose Amnesia The best work Dino Lenny ever did was under the guise of Liquid Language; Blu Savannah (Squeed) is easily his best work. If you haven't heard the original mix, start looking for this track, it's well worth it

I'm happy to see that I've got a fair few of those in my collection. Most of them I was fortunate to buy when they first came out, but a few others like BT - Mercury & Solace I've had to locate more recently.

I would judge the truly rare tracks as those which have more people wanting than having, "Future Funland" etc.

Ive actually got quite a few of those in the want list..

My vinyl is 10,000 miles away though

ill be going home in 4 months for a bit so try to keep the list up to date and we'll do business.

the thread will stay up so long i think, as its getting updated almost very week. although the popularity was higher in the begin, im glad most people havent forgotten the topic, and still come back. contributions from people like waxhead, daanmc, grimreaper, the_chris, keithos27, diesel09, vandict, dragonsemerald etc .. Thanks, even though I dont think I've really contributed to this thread

Some odd choices in that list there. For example Orbital's Brown Album is in stock at Chemical right now for �12.99, so it's not really very rare.
