Chelsea v Barcelona
Chelsea welcome back John Terry, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech after they missed the FA Cup clash with Colchester.
Asier del Horno also returns but William Gallas (hamstring) and Claude Makelele (knee) are doubts. Michael Essien is suspended for both legs.

Barcelona may start with Mark van Bommel and Thiago Motta in midfield and leave Lionel Messi on the bench.

Edmilson and Deco are expected to complete the four-man midfield but winger Ludovic Giuly is injured.

Barcelona (from): Valdes, Belletti, Oleguer, Puyol, Marquez, Silvinho, Van Bronckhorst, Van Bommel, Motta, Messi, Edmilson, Deco, Ronaldinho, Eto'o

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chelsea skipper John Terry:
"We are hungrier to go that one step further (Chelsea have reached the last four in the last two seasons).

"We are really looking forward to playing Barcelona. They are doing very well in their league, similar to us. It's going to be another really exciting tie."

Barcelona playmaker Ronaldinho:
"I've still got images in my head of when the match (against Chelsea) finished last year and we were out (Barcelona lost 5-4 on aggregate in the quarter-finals).

"I don't want that to happen again this year. One of the keys will be to play football the way we know how.

"We know the grass is in a bad state but it will be the same for both teams and I'm not worried about it."

The chavs will probably moan about the sending off, but they got away with 2 clear penalties (handball by Makelele? and Terry running over Messi then handling the ball!). For the record, it shouldn't have been a red card.

You summed up exactly how I feel about the game last night. After jose's diving, cheating porto team did us out the uefa cup in 03, I can only take a sense of satisfaction from this result.

Barca deserve to win this competition as they play football with a swagger, how it's meant to be played.

Posted by scAza on Feb-23-2006 13:00:

I wish we had some really nippy, tricky players like Messi/Ronaldinho etc. They really are a joy to watch, even on that fucking DISGRACE of a pitch.

I'm fuckin delighted they lost
