Actually there is a pretty big EDM following in Westchester. I have a ton of friends there and they are all into EDM. Some travel to NY for shows and some to CT.

Well, hello there. IMO White Plains is perfect. At the same time close and far enough from Manhattan and you have all you need within a mile + (train is 35 minutes sharp to GC). EDM following here is big, no doubt but the bars are filled with either top 40 or VERY bad house music infused with horrible crowd.. Used to work in one of the bars, saw it pretty close and dont want to see it ever again. It's THAT bad.

But.. If you're ok for taking the train to Manhattan, i don't think you'd be disappointed if you ever make the decision to move here

I drive from bath beach to tarrytown for work, and before that i took public transit from UES to tarrytown...hahaha im really comfortable with the train- so thats actually something ive concidered as well. The train to Manhattan is really short and usually quite cumfy the hours id be taking it.

Honestly....i have yet to find bars that have any good music- unless they have a juke (or is it jute?) box....im totally ok with going out and having fun just drinking and meeting new people- doesnt always have to be trance. In fact, theres no trance at all in bk

but if the crowd sucks that kind of dissapoints me

i actually looked at a condo yesterday- but im not THAT commited...where the heck are all the decent rental places??

Posted by eyebegod on Apr-29-2011 17:00:

House scene is starting to pick up in White Plains (I work next to the train station) Forward Disco is a monthly party at Jackie Blue- 162 East Post Rd. Also JP just played a show in White Plains, i believe this past weekend? So yea, not trance, and you still get the crowed, but at least its something

Depends really what is your budget, there are some really nice (but a little pricey) condos here: Bank Street Commons, Avalon, One City Place and some decent (and not so pricey) condos in Lake Street (Gramercy is pretty nice) and Barker Avenue.

Yeah, house music is getting bigger in White Plains and the local DJs are trying their best to get it out there. Not still the parties i like to attend because the crowd is horrible. Fights, fights, hoes and guidos. Not my cup of tea.

It's still mostly top40 and irish bars.

There is this one Irish bar tho where they have streaming jukebox which has pretty wide selection of EDM. Hitting up in that bar and loading the jukebox up in a quiet night is closest as it gets. lol.

JP was in Prophecy last week I believe. Last time they held a house party, over 10 fights broke lose, i heard.

My friend used to throw Trance parties at Korova lol There's also some Trance/House nights at Elements that aren't so bad.

Then there's always the option of driving a lil further to the Grand which gets decent DJ's sometimes.

My friend just started promoting some parties at Prophecy hopefully they can bring in some solid talent.

Another friend of mine spins at some local venues in WP, New Roc, and Mamaroneck and plans techno (not commerical) I will let you know when his next gig is if you wanna check it out.

+1 on the fights lol and the crowd just doesn't have those good vibes I'm looking for when I go out.
