Also, re: temp tatoos, I know someone who is personally involved in a piece of the party, and it is doubtful that they will see any kind of profit. According to my friend they need to keep a # of guestlist spots open for all the additional DJs/producers/connected folks in detroit for the weekend who will most likely be stopping by. Add the fact that its only 300 capacity + the pretty huge line-up...and...yeah.

Just thought I'd offer a different perspective.

Well I know they aren't trying to screw anyone. I'm in the business of throwing parties too so I know what a struggle it is and that they most likely wont walk away with much money. Like I said, $20 for that lineup is still a bargain.

I was just upset with the way the price increase was handled and not disclosed, etc.

I will seriously have $0 in Detroit. Not an exaggeration, $0.

well... at least that should come in handy if you get mugged
lol

how the hell should I know? I don't work for them

Party prices almost everywhere always increase at the door, so I would say it's a pretty safe bet this one will too.

my friend is buying extra presales for Minus and selling them for double at the door
lol

Posted by Silky Johnson on May-19-2008 23:54:

Ok thanks. I pretty much just needed justification for buying presales.

I can spare the 15 bucks if I don't end up going.

Word, I'll let them know. They were in the #4 most popular spot on groove tickets over the weekend, pretty crazy.

Wooooooooooooot. I can't wait for Saturday.

I dunno when I get paid but it'll be sometime this week. Stupid credit crisis delays my paycheck but w/e. As long as it's before Friday I am cool.

Hahah yeah I get paid Friday, cannot fucking wait!!

I want to do a little shopping before I go. I need to get some appropriate footwear.

I was thinking that too but since I don't really care about footwear .. figure i'd spend it on clothes haa!

I only care about buying heels. My bf hates it. But I'll be fine with my sneakers.

But you know what I DO want.. is a pair of those gladiator sandals. It's just so fraking hard to find ANYTHING my size.

dressing up for DEMF is a bit of a pointless venture
lol

you're not a girl so there's no way you'd understand.

even if we're not dressing up, we still want to look cute and feel all awesome in fresh new clothes.

no I understand dressing up for say, Miami, since it's a fashionable place with pretty people and such

was just saying in the case of Detroit, there's absolutely no need to do so. people might actually look at you weird if you dress up
lol

Who said anything about dressing up? I said I needed appropriate footwear....i.e. something comfortable (and cute) for outdoor wear and tear.

But yeah I'm with Myra. I'm not much of a "dress up" type...but I still like to have some style going on. Shit, I'm just a jeans and t-shirt type.

lol.. dork you are assuming that we'll dress up just cuz we want to do what's in our blood.. SHOP!

jeans sneakers and a cuteish [not fancy] top.

Posted by lcid on May-20-2008 20:08:

i have specifically bought a few items in excitement for DEMF weekend and summer in general, and none of them are "dressy" at all...

1. Luke Fair style hat (to protect my head from the sun)
2. new sandals that are comfy and that stay on my feet while walking/running/dancing
3. tube top that i can wear without a bra (extra comfort ftw)
4. t-shirt that makes me think of techno music and unicorns

Posted by Silky Johnson on May-20-2008 20:10:

Yeah I totally need to buy a hat.
