I love his little moustache thing. You can't see it in the shot, but he's got another 4+ eyes on the back of his head.

I'm too scared to get that close to bees though. I'm bigtime allergic

Going back to this post: Is that what creates/lessens noise? The processors? Or is it the sensor itself? Or a combo of both?

It should be a combination of both.

You can also specify which point selection mode (and which point or zone), you want the camera to jump to, depending on the orientation of the camera.

God damn. And the price is so fucking affordable compared to the 5d.

LOL I almost want to get that as my EF-S body, but I don't shoot nearly enough to justify getting a new body right now...

I don't think I've seen a shot from you since the beginning of your summer. You slack bastard!

Posted by Rasidel Slika on Sep-01-2009 07:50:

I have taken a number of photos over the summer. The main thing stopping me from posting them is that its slow as fuck getting them on to my computer. I use Lightroom 2 to transfer and it takes a good hour or so for it to get all the photos on because of the way it does it.

Posted by Rasidel Slika on Sep-01-2009 08:01:

supposedly the 1899 is with a 28-135 lens. 1699 body only.

So don't transfer them this shitty way? Memory card reader ftw

Posted by gehzumteufel on Sep-01-2009 08:35:

Might I suggest using a different program?

Posted by Joss Weatherby on Sep-01-2009 14:14:

Yea. I need to experiment. I have a memory card reader, but I was never happy with it, its sort of shoddy.

Citric told me to use one years ago, but I have always been stubborn!

damn.

Posted by Rasidel Slika on Sep-01-2009 18:27:

so uhh... on the Galbraith site I was surprised by the ISO 1600 picture of the dog running - so much noise! but I told myself my eyes were probably playing tricks on me - the image does not look like something created by a brand new next-gen DSLR, in 2009. It looks like something I'd get out of my 5D1.

Posted by Joss Weatherby on Sep-01-2009 18:29:

It is noisy, but at least it is very monochromatic, not a lot of hot pixels, like those annoying purple fucks you see in lower end dSLR cams...

I actually kind of like the noise in that photo from an aesthetic point of view, but yea, even my 5Dmk1 is less noisy at 1600, that looks like a 3200ISO shot.
