Dancing Dude

I had a great time, not sure if I had more fun this year then last year's though - I really like this place, lol.

Just one thing though and I'm curious if other people think so too or it was just me:

The sound in the main room I thought wasn't really good at all, what's the word, um; muffle'd? or something, I don't know. Hopefully they have this tweak'd by tonight or at least by Saturday!

Very fun & definitely worth the $25. Was really packed, but with mostly good people & a good vibe. A bit too hot in the mainroom, but oh well.

DJs I saw: Andy Moor (1st 40 minutes) played deeper basslines, harder & better than I expected. Jaytech (last 20 minutes) played very funky & fun danceable stuff. Above & Beyond (whole set) started slow but the set progressed quickly & perfectly with the right blend of melodic uplifting trance, some high energy trance & harder breakdowns, and their classics thrown in which were all crowd pleasers. The place went nutz & into a complete frenzy about an hour in when they dropped "on a good day," and that energy continued until the end of their set. Gareth Emery (whole set) can be described in one word, energy. He really pounded it out ........

Great night got there late due to my inexperienced friend tagging long but made it in time to meet roger shah and chat with him a while. Above & Beyond rocked it hard loved the high energy tracks and of course the vocal tracks we all love. Set times were to the T. Gareth Emery surprised me with an energetic set and pounded out a deep sarah mclachlan silence which was really cool. .Missed the meet. Sorry guys! Hope to see some of you tonight for Markus. Took pics and video will have them up soon.

I ended up camping out in the Anjunadeep room the whole time. Saw A&B and GE for a bit.

Jody and Jaytech destroyed the Anjunadeep room though.

I didn't catch Jody, but Jaytech was brilliant.

Headed over to Karu & Y a little after 10, I think they opened about 10:30. I recommend not talking with the line bouncers unless necessary though. I asked one guy where to go with a hard ticket, and he said to go to the front of the line labeled "will call." No line was labeled "with tickets," was just cash and will call from what I remember. So I cut in front of the people in line as directed, and another bouncer up front puts up his hands and yells that the club is not open yet. Upon asking if I should wait up front or go to the back of the line (since I had a hard ticket in a will call line), he got very irritated and said "look, you have to wait with everyone!" A simple "people with tickets should go to the back/front of the line would have been helpful.

Once inside, the club was so dark. Some blue lights up ftont and that was it...made me wonder how A&B's mostly uplifting music would go over in a dark cave...lol. I mean it was so dark that the only way to see other people was to turn around and look back at them!

Martin Roth was spinning an interesting mix of tech/house, Andy Moor's set really kicked the energy up, and Jono and Tony killed it! Cool outside area, ran into some friends there and we headed into the side room for the TA meetup at 1. But where to find the TA's when the room was completely packed from wall to wall like sardines? Sorry that we never found the meetup!

Overall, a great night, left just when Gareth was coming on. My ears were saying "yes," but after being on the yacht earlier for 5 hours, my feet were saying "no.". ...and there was absolutely no place to sit in this club to take a breather, plenty of empty couches and tables, actually, but they were all "reserved VIP" but nobody was biting.

Hope Ferry goes off there tonight! Looking forward to the reviews and pics to come.

Was an enjoyable event but could have been better. There was an insane lighting rig set up but it wasnt used at all. Not sure if that was set up already for Ferry's event or AM only. Lighting was pretty terrible there. I disagree with the set times entirely and wont name what djs but many felt the same way. Wasnt a fan of Martin Roth at all. Josh Gabriel I liked only the last 30 minutes or so. Andy Moor was great. Above and Beyond had a fun set. Gareth Emery destroyed the place though. Damn. His set at the Dip In event sucked but this was amazing. Wippenberg put me to sleep so damn fast. Then Sean Tyas came on and track after track was massive. Respect seans set all the time. He neer changes it up - he knows what people want from him, and sticks to it. Top two sets were Sean and Emery followed by Above and Beyond I think. Didnt catch much of the anjunadeep room though but looked good.
