I'm surprised Pronger even made the team.

As our gold winner Nesbitt said: it's the first time/Olympics the own the podium program is in effect and it's natural that some will buckle under the pressure while a few will rise to the top. It's about time we have something in place that not only supports our athletes but gives them a realistic level of expectation that they will face when performing at the world's highest level of competition. I personally am sick of us always being so complacent of simply being there. I'm in full support of the program. If the program is in effect for London, I bet we'll see an even better result as both the athletes and the commitee will now know the type of scrutiny they will face/be under.

They might have made a mistake in saying "we WILL own the podium" when they should've said: "we need to go in with the mentality to OWN the podium as if it belongs to us, even if it doesn't".

Is there anything you guys can do without us?

Completely joking. Truth be told I'd actually rather be Canadian. You guys are way more chill.

yay london. I got some chills watching it last night. Such a great story, growing up skating together, 13 yrs later winning gold on home turf and being the youngest.

Hahaha he has been my favourite win so far. His interview after was like no other. Auctioneering, chugging beer, his overall spirit <3 And when everyone was singing O Canada around him he looked really sad that he was still being interviewed and couldnt join in.

His walk through Wistler Village afterward was like the winter version of techno viking

Virtue & Moir killed it so hard last night... they transcended ice skating and imo embodied dedication/ chemistry and raw talent...

I don't want these games to end!

The Americans are leading w/ 7 gold medals, and we have 5?

We still have curling (men + women), hockey (men + women), women's freestyle skiing ski cross today?

It annoys me to no end that people keep insisting our turnout has been "poor"...

Our turnout has been no better then past olympics and when our own Olympic Committee comes out and doesn't just suggest we may finish on top of the standings but says we will then yeah Canada has had a poor performance.

Yep....I sure do.

How can anyone say we've had a great performance this Olympics? The Canadian athletes have not performed well in a year we were told that Canadians would be on top of the medal count. We have done basically the same as we have in the past 4 Olympics. Why spend all this extra money to have the same performance as every other Olympics?

I feel bad for the athletes who have failed and I feel great for the athletes who have surpassed expectations. The athletes have been put under unfair pressure to perform well...this pressure wasn't put on them by the citizens but by the Olympic Committee. It is clear that psychologically our athletes are not prepared to perform at the highest level.

She is such a hottie. It's great that so many young people are still getting into curling and curling is really starting to get world wide acceptance.
