| PvD and Nu-Nrg will play at the Loveparade Demonstration at the Ku'Damm in Berlin on July 10th (Adenauerplatz 16.30 Uhr) This demo has been organized by Partysan, who always had a truck at the 'real' Loveparade. More trucks and thousands of ravers are being expected to show up to protest for the return of Loveparade (which has been cancelled for 2004) |

woo hooo. just got handed my ticket out of this place. As much as travelling is going to mean a lot of work (usually 100+ hours/week) i'm really looking forward to getting away from this office.
packing sux
esp when ur stressed from dealing with travel agent from hell who screwed everythin up and only picked up tix from sydney 10 mins ago and still has to bring em to me 2nite..........but piece of advice - if u wanna end up gettin 5000 worth of flites for 3000, with the travel agent having to make up the difference out of her own pocket cos of her screw-ups, come to canberra...hehehe
so, now i feel like i have an ulcer, and last thing i feel like doin is leavin everythin that's familiar to me for a year....and my doggy keeps lookin at me with a "please don't go" expression on her face
sumbody remind me this is a good opportunity and i should go make the most of it...........cos rite now all i wanna do is curl up in bed and cry

Mr H says:

aww dont worry its just a little bit of nerves and anxiety.. once your over there you will have the best time.....
there is no doubt you will probably get homesick but just make the most of it... its summer over there so sun = happy hehehe
if not ill take your tickets for you?
Its always hard to leave something your so used to for a long time, and like cam said, even during the time away there will be points where you get home sick. But you have to think about the situation in the long run, like in 2 or 3 years time looking back on your trip.. I am sure at that point you would laugh at urself for even remotely being upset about leaving, because you are about to go on an experience of a lifetime. Also think how many people just on these forums alone are freakin' jealous of your opportunity - i'm definitly one of them.
Things will ease the longer you spend there, the more places you see and the more people you meet... dont forget to keep us updated on ur mischievous adventures.
Good luck and have an amazing time !
Don't worry Alli, know exactly how you feel right now. Am so upset and stressing out so bad that if I ate right now I am sure I would just throw up. Backpack is packed but so heavy I will have to remove a lot of things. Have said bye to family and doggies and now time to see Dylan and say bye to him too
. Not at all excited about the trip atm. Fingers crossed the travel agent will actually show up at yoru door tonight with our tix

awwww
don't worry alli u will be fine...its only natural for u to feel this way as what ur doing is a HUGE step with u being away from ur family and friends for so long - i don't think i could do it! but yeah as the others said there will prob be a lot of times where u will feel home sick but once ur over there i'm sure u will forget all about it and have a blast!!!
and remember u still have a few au.ta's over there to keep ya company for the first month or so and by the time they r gone u will prob be having so much fun u will wonder why u were freakin out about leaving to begin with
i wud do anything to be in your shoes, being left behind its not a good feeling, goodluck with it im sure after the nervousness goes away you will enjoy every moment!
awww thanx guys
my brain is just fried right now - so much happenin all at once............and i'm sittin here lookin at my stoopid backpack which i know i have way too much stuff in, and wondering how in hell i'm gonna be happy living outta it....and tryin to remember if i've done everythin i needed to do before i leave....and just....i dunno - tis so overwhelming!!! but i'll cope
thanks heaps for the encouragement

Quick hello from Singapore airport
Gotta luv free net terminals...hehehe We really should still be shoppin, but we've spent way too much already on cosmetics (we'll be poor in europe, but at least we'll look good!!) so we're staying away from the shops now!!!
Everything that could go wrong went wrong so far....we missed our original flight outta cbr...then the next one had mechanical probs and couldn't take off.......the one we ended up gettin barely got us to sydney in time for our connection and we almost had a stroke running at olympic speed to get to the gate in time...not fun!!! but we were rewarded by having the whole back row of seats to ourselves, when the rest of the plane was chockablock full...hehehe.....and i just noticed we've got exit row seats to cairo....so, things r pickin up *lol*
on a random note, we just had the infamous singapore chicken rice....for those of u goin thru changi soon, TRY IT!!! it's really as good as it's made out to be!!
okay, now i'm starting to ramble like a crazy woman - forgive me cos im running off about 3 hours sleep in the last 3 days...and my brain is fried from planes............so, i think i'll just shuddup now and go wait for our flight to cairo........i'm actually startin to be a lil excited about it now - bout time it kicked in!!!!
byeeeeeeeee for now - adventure reports coming soon

travelling alone can get really lonely (i spend 3 months a year o/s for work), but it doesn't take long to get into the groove in new places. When your settling in for a while it's even easier, the worst is when you are constantly moving. As soon as you find good places to eat, things to do, make a few friends, it's time to start all over again.
Probably too late, but in cairo beware of people claiming to be students or otherwise just wanting to practice their english. they're a pain to get rid of and always have a store selling souvenirs. The best way to get rid of them is to tell them you are meeting a busniess colleague.
