hmm... I'm going from what all my friends told me about experiences at popular clubs last NYE... many stood on line for 2+ hrs. I don't think they're keeping you outside purposely, it's just that at 9pm doors open and around 9:30-10pm a HUGE influx of people will come, anticipating getting in early... but there are so many people that if you're not the first ones you won't get in for a while? Plus they have to check everyone, give out will call tickets, make sure the club isn't overcrowded (ahhahah yea right as if Ikon would care) etc so it slows down... I wanna get there at 9pm...

yeah it's mainly a funneling thing... plus i mean people get patted down (which doesn't quite work, as an example, at avalon, because of that narrow doorway inside, and they expect guys and girls to separate to two pat-down lines... but if there're so many guys and girls are backed all the way up, etc, you know what i mean), people go to coat checks, people show improper id and argue about it... the list goes on and on

im def getting there at 9pm if not a bit before that. the line at Ikon does tend to get long. usually they would have a ticketholders line -- at least they better >.<

Yeah, I want to get there early. I don't want to make the mistake getting on line at 10 like I did at avalon-nyc last new years and getting in a few minutes before the new year

yea, I heard a few horror stories like that. THat would ruin my night... I'm gettin there at 9, I'd rather wait inside, warm and listening to O'Bir... than outside, freezing my ass off, God forbid it rains or snows...

the will-call tix I have hopefully will present no problem

VIP in nyc means jack shit unless you know the club owner or the door guy then you'll get treated with alittle more respect. this is NYC man, anything you pay will be for general attendee's with a possible higher level VIP section which essentially will cost you 300 since you might be forced to buy a bottle to get a table and the list extends on and on and on and on


oh and by the way, i've seen a PVD line at exit wrap around until the back side exit of the club..lols im not sure im feelin this one...

I think ya got to get there b4 9pm. I hate the butt naked cold! Yeah, it's better to be chillin inside where it's warm and twidling my thumbs then hanging outside possibly until the last minute. Anything to avoid a huge line at the coat check too.

Even so, there's gonna be a long line no matter what. Oh well....

I want to see Jon O'Bir spinning at 10:30!!

but really, i have seen some people at Space 34 throw some kind of TA sign - cant remember it exactly... but still this is not a bad idea - just need to work on the sign - don't want to be flashing the "crip killa" sign...
