Of course you like the music but if you think that thats the only reason to be there or enjoy a performance I feel sorry for you.

Hes just as much a part of the show as the music is!
Since when should we not enjoy and appreaciate the DJ? thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard.

Appreciate the DJ all you want. But there's a difference between appreciating and worshipping. The behaviour of some people at the party and on this board is what I would expect from your typical Britney Spears fans. When you lose the ability to judge a party or a set objectively just because it's a specific DJ, there's a problem. People have been saying "the sound sucked and the crowd sucked but it was still the bestest night of my life!!!!!!!1" Either they've lost the ability to be critical because they worship Tiesto so much, or they had some really goooooood e, or they really need to get out more! Or maybe even all 3.

Don't get me wrong, this behaviour isn't what ruined the party for me, the bullshit sound did that. I'd just like to see people be a little more critical and start to hold promoters responsible for their actions. If they hear nothing but positive feedback, they'll think everything was "good enough" and they don't need to fix anything for next time.

Did you ever think that some Britney Spears fanse worship her because they like Britney Spears? ...

Some people worship Tiesto because they like Tiesto...I still don't see what your point is...what's wrong with people worshiping someone? I don't see a problem with that at all

There is no human that should be worshiped. Adored... sure, respected... of course, but worship should be saved for the devine. BTW, I didn't witness any worship... some adoration maybe but not worship, unless of course I just didn't notice the goat being sacraficed.

lol...yeah the goat went up in flames on the patio after... *edit* maybe someone sacrifised a virgin *edit*

Some people take things way too seriously...which brings me to the conversation I had with RJ on the patio...Sure I have a shirt that says "Tiesto is my God" and and a little sign in the sig - but doea that mean that I am 100% serious? Does that mean I worship the man unconditionally? No...of course not...half the time I exaggerate and push it on purpose because it's funny and I don't have a problem laughing at myself sometimes too. So just because some people were going crazy and "worshiping" Tiesto...doesn't mean anything...there are enough Armin worshipers as well...and same with every other big DJ...just need to take everything a little less seriously and enjoy yourself.

I think the proper way to adress this would be to state that most people do not regard other people as gods. Likelihood is no one at the Docks on Saturday actually regards Tiesto as a god, thus the use of the term worship is incorrect and implies a connotation that is not accurate. Now, if a person does regard Tiesto or any other human as a deity then it is quite likely they should seek some professional help.

Having read everyone's review I'd say RJ and I kinda felt the same about this party. Definately a thumbs down for me.

If I had to rate it....it was 6.5/10

-Though Tiesto threw down some classic tracks...it was nowhere in comparison to his previous performances. IMO December was waaaaay better.

-The sound was pretty bad. But then I can't blame him...it could have been many reasons that caused that...i.e. like the people who complained about the Dock, the guys working behind the lines or the people themselves that overcrowded the place and drummed out the sounds.

-His fast and rude exit was also a big turn-off for me (but then...that's kind of become his reputation now hasn't it).

-But most of all....I was not happy with the crowd that showed up. Palazzo, Z103.5 crowd really brought down this party in a big way...and they even cheapened Tiesto's performance. I didn't mind the Tiesto chanting...but what I did mind was the rudeness of the tall guys that just walked right in front of me (I even shoved a few right back and told 2 couples to take it to a cheap motel room). The bongo people should just be banned IMO...WTF don't they get that it sounds awfull

Tiesto has always been a favourite of mine...because he always stuck to the euphoric tracks...borrowing from older Gatecrashers and those that were more talented than him. I won't bother naming whom he borrowed from, bc if you know ur music...then you know what I'm talking about.
Don't get me wrong....I don't disrespect Tiesto.....I have enjoyed him for a long time and will continue to enjoy him...but his style is changing and IMHO he peaked with his JUST BE release.

I have always considered TA's music appreciation as being elite and above the norm. And I hope for all your sakes...that you won't turn and hate him for what stands ahead. So I suggest you be prepared to move on....bc Tiesto has....and I think we should just be happy for him that he's crossed over into that kind of maintstream success.

So I dedicate this review IN MY MEMORY of Tiesto...and I'm happy he brought great joy into our lives with his music.

PEACE

I must admit I was not that impressed with Tiesto's performance. Maybe it was the crowd or maybe it's because Tiesto is not one of my fav DJs. I am glad I had a chance to see him but I don't think I would rush out to see him again....at least not at the DOCKS.

I knew it was going to be a bad crowd the minute one GINO asked me if Tiesto will be on at 11:00 pm. All I could think was this guy has heard tiesto on Z103.5 and at some top 40 bar and decided he would go. Then the constant Tiesto chant just got annoying....started by 11:00 pm and just never stopped.

As for the tunes.....they were good but definately not the best I have heard. Overall I would give it a 7/10....that isn't saying much because I would give a 6/10 if I was the only person at Guv and DJ Fuck All was spinning records he made in his basement.

Aha I understand how youd feel like that, I kinda got the same vibe at his last 6 hour set and knew this second time would be much worst in terms of crowd gathering. I also found out 6 hours of tiesto is a little too much!

mr. brian transeau when will you ever come back...!!

Okay...everyone's talking about this VIP section upstairs...are you talking about like the balcony and shit? I asked a couple people or so if they checked upstairs out and they were all like "that's VIP" blah blah blah...but was it? As far as I know it wasn't! I went up there twice...and I was not checked or anything to see if I was VIP...which I wasn't! I'm so confused! Haha...maybe the guards just liked me or something...haha j/k! I dunno, but I strolled up there like it was nothing, no hassle at all! So I'm not even sure where this VIP area is that you all speak of! (Other then behind the DJ booth)

hahaha

'worship' may or may not be the correct word to use when showing love, adoration, obsessiveness for a favourite DJ. However, having done minimal research in the field of religious studies I know that there isn't one single definition for 'religion'. There may be certain similarities and differences within the concept of religion but it cannot mean the same for everyone. So for the ppl who do 'worship' Tiesto or did on Thursday night, maybe Tiesto is their religion! or maybe they're just on some really good E or maybe they wanted to express their appreciation for him, by chanting, having signs, wearing clothing!! c'est tout!

My review,

We arrived around 10 to beat the crowd and enjoy the nice patio weather and a few drinks before the madness with ideal chatter if it was going to be busy, crazy, etc, in comparison to previous Tiesto shows. As most people have already said, it was very, very busy. The madness near the stage was something out of a mosh pit, tons of pushing, shoving. I've never been to an electronic event, where it seemed more like an open air rock concert, packed full of so many rude people? The tiesto call outs? After the first 10 minutes or so i had enough, I can understand peoples excitement, but come on, it was going on during the whole night, get a life.

We retreated to the back to enjoy some space, and breathing room, and what seemed to be a happier crowd back there. To those that had smiles and idle chatter, thanks, and hi. However, being in the back, there was a definite difference in the sound, not sure if it was just the distance from the stage or simply the sound system. Night highlights have to be flight 643, and universal nation just to name a few.

Pics to follow.

That's were I was and I suspect most of the true partiers. Despite the poor sound, I'd rather be able to dance to the music then see the DJ.
