Well lets just say Labour of Love kicked my ass. This and Decadance are still one of my favourite parties to hit up, and I am glad I did, regardless of price. Im not going to complain about the heat, the overcrowding, etc. Ive come to expect these sorts of things, especially from a line-up such as it was.
We had a nice crew at my place before hand, and some friends that came in all the way from Edmonton to check this event out. Thanks for everyone who came by, it was a ton of fun, and no real mess to clean up!
We got there around 12:00 to a packed lineup, and offered a healthy "tip" to security to let us though. Soon to enter a packed Kool Haus. A few drinks later we chilled out towards the back corner of the KH since that seemed to be the only place with some room to dance.
Armin came on, and personally I thought he played a fantastic set, and everything that I wanted to hear and came to expect. Whole crowd seemed really up for it.
Junkie came on, and I thought he didn't really turn it out, kind of dropped the ball, seemed his set was pre-programmed or something. But anyway, at this point it didn't matter Ferry was on next.
I will admit, and this is a tough call, his 8hr marathon set he played awhile back in the Guv space was better IMHO, however his set this time was a close second.
Great to run into some familiar faces! I managed to tough it out till 9am for a long awaited shower and of course my bed!!!
Until the next time.
Oh, and last question, did Ferry drop Filo & Peri feat. Kathleen Fisher - Ordinary Moment? I thought on my way out I heard this? Almost dragged me back for some more!!!!!
Very late,yes I know...
Best Labour of Love yet for me. Although the Koolaus was so packed early on in the night, getting around the complex was the easiest that it has ever been. usually there are long lines to get upstairs to begin the voyage thru the place.
Armin...best set in a looong time, after decadence I have been very iffy, but this night made me regain all my faith in him. Solar Stone-Seven Cities, TUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNE, where was the sign when we needed it NADA!!!
Diggers, well only saw him for about 20 minutes, but it seemed okay.
Ferry, WOW, tune after tune that made me keep going all morning, I thought going into it that there would be no way I would last till 10 a.m. but I did thanks to the great tunage.
Chris it was great to see you, Ashley its too bad you weren't able to make it you would have really enjoyed the night I think
Buffaloferryfan, aka Grinder, it was GREAT to see you back in action again, front row centre, Ferry must have been so happy
To everyone else what a great way to end the summer and it was great chillin after.

but I still had an incredible time! Partying with you guys REALLY makes it hard to "hang-up my hat" from going to these partys.. you guys really make it worth it. Thx again Lisa for holding up my "Sweetest Dreams" sign. That was the one track I've wanted to hear most at a party. But I must say Tenshi & Dogzilla - Without You (Original Mix) bring back amazing memories of that night as well.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME I LOVE THAT TRACK
Well....just got back from the cottage so time for my review. All and all it was a good night.......spent most of the night with my brother and that was kinda the way I wanted it to be.
Started off the night listening to MO who dropped a great set.....just before Armin hit the decks I took off into the tent.....I wanted to catch Tommy Sunshine at 1:00 am. The tent was just perfect....so much room to move it was great....finally Tommy Sunshine hit the decks and man did he destroy the tent........Tommy Sunshine stole the night and I would have been happy to leave after his set.....Went into the Guv to catch Diggers and I was shocked at how much room there was to move....it was absolutely incredible. Decided to go check out a little of Ferry's set before Benny B came on and after about 10 minutes I had enough and couldn't get out of there quick enough.....I can't judge his whole set so I won't but the ten minutes I heard almost put me to sleep. Headed back to the Guv and got up on the stag and caught the end of Diggers set. Diggers did a great job and then Benny B came on......I couldn't believe how dark and dirty he started off.....it was amazing......saw a couple TAs who mentioned they were more then surprised at how awesome Benny was spinning......from about 7-8 Craig and I just leaned up against the rail and bounced along to the beat and just watched Benny and the crowd....it was the perfect way to end the night....and for craig...to end his afterhours partying.
Here is a good clip I thought I'd post for everyone. I took about 45 of Armin & Ferry in total. This is one I took when I was backstage with Armin dropping Love You More. Hope you like

| Originally posted by Sasha I have absolutely no desire to see any of top 20 DJ's again. musicwise Kool Haus and main room were worst places to be last nite (I missed Digweed though) on the other hand, those who spent at least half an hour in the tent, will agree with me that the music and djs energy were on a totally different level there! AWESOME! |
