Ok, I wanted to have some Euros with me before getting on the plane and I know that the airport jack up their fees, but I think at my bank (BOA) they need to order the currency beforehand. Does anyone know which bank I can go to that they would have euros on hand?

At every GWK Travelex office at the airports they have Euros.
Other banks I don't know. I always change USD into EUR when I'm flying back to Holland at the GWK office.

That reminds me, call your CCard company and tell them your going to be in Holland! otherwise they will lock your card and your fukd as they will NOT unfreeze it if you try and call while in Holland. This happens to people all the time.

We use our cards at ATM's for getting euros without paying thur the nose with fees, so check with your CCard/Bank before leaving.

One last thing, when your all out wondering the city with a nice buzz becarefull of the trams/cars/bicycles and locals who walk very fast. One year an american tourist got killed when he stepped in front of a tram, not a pretty sight I can tell you.

I always call my cards, even when I go to Orlando! Trust me, they freeze my card ALL THE TIME even here in Miami, I guess they don't believe someone can go to so many places and spend so much money in a little amount of time, but trust me, it can be done!

It depends from branch to branch, and that particular branches policies. (I work for a bank) The branch I'm closest too luckily allways has a big supply of Euros in stock. its allways good to call ahead though!

in regards to the euro...i actually had to order mine ahead of time going thru HSBC..they said it can take up to 7 business days to get them but mine came in 2..

ATMs work fine, I would think. The service charge will be at most <10USD total, but you would want to take out enough to last you awhile anyway.

As for the weather, it's looking more and more like the San Francisco weather here, so I'm feeling good. I just hope it's not pouring rain, but nothing can dampen my mood right now!

Here N.Fla its 72f with 17% humdity, and later this week its going to be in the mid 80s. I look forward to the cool temps in Holland.

i know with visa the service charge for different currencies is 1% (so if you bought/withdrew $100, the extra fee is only $1). on top of that, you would have to pay any fee the actual atm charges, and if your bank charges any fees for using atms that are not your bank. it's really not that bad.
