It looks like something I'd get out of my 5D1.

They are all quite noisy, but how often are you shooting at 1600ISO?

I actually kind of like the noise in that photo from an aesthetic point of view, but yea, even my 5Dmk1 is less noisy at 1600, that looks like a 3200ISO shot.

compare it to D300 ISO 1600 -

Am I missing something here?

If I had a D300 I'd be doing it a lot! for night and low-light work.

Often enough, if my lens isn't fast enough.

I always find myself shooting in low light...

Those all show what I find to be more annoying than just the noise itself in high ISO photos.

Its the grain marks, it looks like you know lines and patterns you can see in the noise, mostly on the vertical. Its sort of a banding effect.

this must be a case of personal preference, then.

damn. did you see my pics on flickr or something? I dont recall posting em in here.

I will say this, regardless of what Trent says (last tour) etc. I think they will be back. Hell, he said the May show was their "last show" said goodbye etc etc so what 3 months later he is back! heh

btw I went to the Friday show, it was "OK" - Saturday's was better setlist.. and May's show was much better for me - better sound and location..

Nah, I saw "NIN @ Something" on my "highlights" on FB. We have like 6 mutual friends and I clicked it. Realized who you were when I saw "delobbo" in the corer.

And even if Friday's show was meh, you are still a bastard for going when I can't. I did see Tool finally a couple weekends back. Boy was that a fucking SICK show.

I wanted to see Tool at Lollapalooza but one night of that zoo was enough for me (DM) - so I guess you could say we're kinda "even"

I'm actually considering heading out to Chicago for a couple days.... Just to ride The Empire Builder.

Need to get my dad to tag along though so I can afford a first class suit on the train and a nice hotel...

Too bad there are no night shots.

Posted by Rasidel Slika on Oct-29-2009 01:20:

Figure I'd share this here, since I have posted many of my Chicago shots. One of my submissions made the cover of this 160-page book, which is conducted by CBS Chicago. There were some 27,800 submissions total, from around 2500 submitters. Sounds like this book is pretty nice, not even talking about the cover.

They supposedly showed the photo on CBS news at 5, 6 and are also showing at 10PM (Central Time USA), tune in if you have a chance!
