It be interesting if it was really Vancouver vs. Montreal.
Here are the years two Canadian teams were against each other for the Stanley Cup
Toronto vs. Montreal (46-47)
Toronto vs. Montreal (50-51)
Montreal vs. Toronto (59-60)
Toronto vs. Montreal (66-67)
Montreal vs. Calgary (85-86)
Calgary vs. Montreal (88-89)
Montreal only won 2 out of those 6
old repost from me but ALL the Canadian teams have been in the Stanley Cup Final since 1993 except, you guessed it: Toronto
1967.
Both Toronto and Edmonton finished last in the East and Western conferences, respectively, and it should be interesting to see which team rebuilds into a playoff one faster
bench bergeron
use subban
GO TEAM GO!
Subban subbing?
yean just saw that, PFK
Subban called up.. 20 year old to face most potent offence in hockey possibly
they're going to ruin subban in the playoffs just like they ruined price last year.
he's a game time decision but I have the feeling he will suit up. Not usually a good idea with a rookie defenseman against that team but PFK may thrive under that pressure.

except for Hamrlik licking hammer, great start so far
please don't pull a Sens
Halak for Major!!
Damn, he's on fire....
HALAK!!!

stops 53 out of 54 shots...

Anyone know how many other goalies have done that in one game?
a few have, I think the record is 70 even. Lots of serious scoring chances however, lots in the faceoff circles. He was awesome tonight.
So I see the Bruins move on. That team is well postioned next year too thanks to the Leafs.
from google..Kelly Hrudey of the New York Islanders who made 73 saves in a 4 overtime game against the Washington Capitals in 1987
[all time (regular season + playoff)]
Sam LoPresti (Chicago Blackhawks) 1941 (83 shots, saved 80) [Against Boston Bruins] -- 4 OT

I hope Chicago wins tonight and Phoenix wins tomorrow.
i just heard on the news it is the best playoff performance in regular time for a goaltender in habs history... 53 saves.

let's hope 1971 is repeating...
Hate to be pissing on everyone's parade, but if we give up 54 shots on Wednesday, on the road, we are not winning game 7.
Besides Halak, we played a very ordinary game...Cammy's 2nd goal should have been stopped and Lapierre's was a deflection by the D's stick upstairs.
Let's hope they keep it going for Game 7, we definitely have the momentum and the pressure is on them. The way people are reacting for a game 6 win feels as if we won the cup. Let's hope there's no idiots burning things down.
In '93 we celebrate a Cup win. In '07 we celebrate 3-1 1ST ROUND WIN. Now we celebrate a game 6 win...it will all mean nothing if we don't come through Wednesday.
That was probably the greatest single playoff game goaltending performance I've seen. The problem is I don't think Halak can do that two games in a row. If Washington plays the same game tomorrow then Washington will be moving on to the next round.
I was at the game and I have to stay the crowed was cracked out trough out the whole game!!! HALAK had a legendary performance!!
maybe it's old
but I saw it yesterday and found it funny
