Really only bought this because I had never heard of "rice ale" before, and I'd had some pretty good Great Divide beers in the past. It's actually quite good.

Those are pics from my mobile uploads. Most of them where taken at the #2 beer bar in the world (according to some magazine i think)
I went to the Czech Republic this week and had some nice beers. As I've said previously in this thread, I'm really sick of pilsener, which was invented there and is thus quite prolific. However, there were plenty of other options.
I had this in both light and dark form; delicious. I usually detest dark beer, too.
Did you try those Schneider-Weisse beers yet, or do I have to punch you in the sack?
Have not. I don't know where to get them. The beer situation in Northern Germany is very different to what you'd probably imagine. Wheat beer isn't that popular or available here.
Anyone ever have this?
Very, very ordinary for a $4+ import. I'm surprised the SAQ is selling it for so much, considering that they have much better and less commonly-available beers at a lower price. Beer is a typical English bitter ale, nothing more nothing less. I'm probably having it too cold though.

So do you guys drink Hoegaardens with a lemon or orange? Cause a guy at work insists that it's supposed to be served with orange, but I never once had it served like that. Lemon is the only way to go.

I find unfiltered beers to be the perfect patio drink. Blanche Du Chamblay is another favourite of mine.
Hoegaarden Blanc is great, but I prefer the herbaciousness of Mothership Wit.
A slice of orange is necessary. I've never had it with lemon; that's very uncommon in the states, but I will try it.
Tried a Paulaner Hefe-Weizen the other day, good stuff. Going to give Lagunitas IPA a shot next.
Nothing special. Would not recommend.
Oh, I also tried Sam Adams Summer Ale this weekend. Shittiest beer I've had.
All Sam Adams beers are shitty.
I'm not the biggest fan of beer that needs fruit added to it to make it better.

Never heard of anyone serving Hoegaarden with a slice of orange. If anything, it's served with a slice of lemon.
I tried Hoegaarden Citroen (i.e. Hoegaarden Lemon) but that's just way too lemony. Do not like.
