Why keep statistics then if they are so irrelevant?

Also, Shaq won MVP in all 3 of those championships. There was more to it than the Lakers just not wanting him anymore and letting him go.

Hey... Strawmy McStrawman... I never said stats were irrelevant. I said YOU are relying on them too much to make your arguments and it's not working.

What are you talking about? I said that I'd rather have Dirk on my team than anybody else, and you're trying to prove me wrong? How can you prove my opinion to be incorrect? I was simply stating why I would pick Nowitzki as opposed to say D Rose or CP3. You obviously wouldn't, so there's not really much left to talk about with that subject.

If you inherit an NBA team, please feel free to not build it around Nowitzki, I promise not to be offended.

What? I'm talking about the statistics you keep using to try and back up your opinion, not the actual opinion itself. For example, you feel vindicated in your choice because Dirk is killing it right now... but you want to ignore the fact that for the 10 years in a row before 2011 he was a playoff no-show. But none of that matters to you. Your mind is made up and that's that, no matter how much perspective someone brings that you hadn't thought about.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to watch my Celts experience another crushing defeat.

They're looking good right now. I don't know if they can keep it up for 4 quarters though. They're getting all their points from their oldest players. Also, isn't it sad seeing Shaq lumber up and down the court? Poor guy should hang em up after this season.

Shane Battier is great.

That looked like it hurt...

rondo is done

Posted by LeopoldStotch on May-08-2011 02:04:

i don't like how rondo landed. otherwise, that may be a spark for the celtics.

Posted by srussell0018 on May-08-2011 02:04:

Yeah that looked almost like he dislocated his elbow. Or maybe he'll pull a Paul Pierce and come back in miraculously after a few minutes.

KG is straight up doing work, and Lebron is quiet as a mouse. Bosh I think is still in Miami or something.

Oh, and poor Rondo must be in some serious pain right about now.

When Bosh played for us it was a given that KG would shut him down, whenever the 2 were matched up.

Great to see the Celtics of old back. I just hope they're back for good (or until the Heat are eliminated. I actually hate the Celtics, lol)

Posted by srussell0018 on May-08-2011 02:12:

I don't think Boston can keep this up. The Heat's shots are going to start falling sooner or later, and KG can't score all of Boston's points.

wow. Just a dislocation that was popped back into place. I thought it was shredded for sure by the looks of it.

He must've gotten the needle. No way you can dislocate something and then come back into the game. He'd be in way too much pain.

Hang on C's! At least make the series interesting and take it to 6 or 7.

Good god... The Hangover 2 looks like it's going to be horrible.

Posted by ziptnf on May-08-2011 02:34:

Why the fuck are they letting Rondo play with one arm? How absurd, I know the guy is a critical part to their team, but what's the point of putting him in more danger if he's not completely healthy?

Posted by The17sss on May-08-2011 02:44:

KG circa 2004 showed up tonight. Love it.

Posted by srussell0018 on May-08-2011 02:50:

The Celts played great tonight, but I just can't see them keeping that up, especially with a one-armed Rondo.

you're finally making some sense.

I hate to agree but it's just a fact. Hey maybe they pull out another one at home, but I just can't see them being able to keep up the intensity on those old legs.

Shaq isn't even going to be able to walk without being on painkillers for the rest of his life.

he needs to lose about 75 pounds or he can expect knee replacements by the time he's 50.

Posted by ziptnf on May-08-2011 04:52:

Lots of people are saying D Wade intentionally "wrestled" Rondo down to the ground. What a bunch of horse shit, people get tangled up in basketball all the time, I highly doubt Wade was trying to do that.
