Taxi Driver!

godfather II!

but seriously, my favorite pre-1980 non Godfather movie has to be The Sting

Posted by dj tek on Feb-21-2005 18:51:

jayme : then why dont u recommend some and stop being a little bitch complaining that ppl dont know as much as you. give examples and educate you fuck.

Rosemary's Baby[1969 i think..] a brilliant psychological horror, a first in this genre... no special fx.

Posted by glittergirl on Feb-21-2005 18:54:

i liked that movie.

oooh... i also liked Six Weeks. i dont know if that's pre-1980, but i think its an old movie and its one of my faves.

and you people are simply jealous of cary elwes...

thanks for telling me my OPINION is wrong. and yeah i'm not jealous of cary elwes. i just think there were better actors for that part.

i think my fav pre1980 movie was babes in toyland, but yeah i haven't seen that since i was like 6

Posted by glittergirl on Feb-21-2005 19:06:

omg i loved that movie!

oh - and The Peanut Butter solution

Posted by verndogs on Feb-21-2005 19:18:

I should start watching more movies

I've seen a total of 11 movies since Jan 2003 (7 in the theater, 4 on DVD, 1 on VHS)

Posted by madhattared on Feb-21-2005 19:29:

yeah when i was little i had 2 two tapes that i always used to watch.

on the first tape there was Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh and Top Gun =)

and on the 2nd i think it was babes in toyland, wizard of oz and Heman

i dont waste my time recommending movies youre not gonna see...all youre gonna do is go "omg highmay so smart! i wanna fuck highmay he so smart!"...it's a waste of time...not unless youre actually gonna take your time and watch the films...

Older movies are cool, I used to try to watch all the movies nominated for Best Picture back in the day. Sorry, these are pretty standard but I don't have the time or energy to search too deeply. Maybe Highmay will provide more of the "artsy" ones...

Here's some of my favorites:

70's

-One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (one of my 5 favorite movies)
-Deer Hunter
-Deliverance
-Taxi Driver
-Chinatown
-Clockwork Orange
-Apocalypse Now

60's

-The Hustler, with Paul Newman (precursor to Color of Money)
-To Kill a Mockingbird
-Doctor Zhivago (sort of chick flick but damn good)
-Midnight Cowboy

Before 60's

-On the Waterfront (Marlon Brando is awesome)
-Grapes of Wrath
-Citizen Kane
