Trackselectie is zoals gezegd heel goed.
Ik begrijp wat je bedoelde over kleine dingen, maar echt erg is het niet, er zitten belange geen trainwrecks in ofzo...
Juist spijtig van de (ietsje) lage kwaliteit van het geluid, maar ik veronderstel dat het door een gebrek aan webspace komt

Everything But The Girl: Five fanthoms (Porter & Debo remix) (White label)
Tracy Thorn�s vocals have featured prominently in some of the biggest dance floor moments of the past decade. Danny Howells presents Jamloops vol. 2: Sexmachine (original/16B remixes) (Sexonwax promo)
This is my pick of record of the year, it's subtle beauty is incredible. A record made by one of the world's best DJs clearlydesigned for the dancefloor. A record that comes alive when played over a soundsystem. A string layden emotional piece with a juxtaposed moaning woman. But the deal sealer on this record is the lack of a bassline, a gutsy move that results in a track that screams frustration throughout. The dancefloor is waiting for a bassline that never comes. 7 minutes of unforgettable tension and that's the magic. Absolutely huge with Luke Fair, Desyn Maseillo and of course Danny Howells
Hiratzka & Kazell: In your eyes (Original mix) (Alternative Route promo)
Rumour has it this originally starting life as a Sinead O'Conner remix that was rejected from the label, this masterpiece finally sees the light of day thanks to what sounds like a rerecording of the vocals. Stunning work, one of the best releases on Alternative Route in ages.
Shiloh vs Mark Mitchell: Run 2 the light (Method promo)
Method steamrolls through another release with a huge collaberative effort from dark progressive breaks man Shiloh and one of the founders of the progressive sound Marc Mitchel. THe result is extraordinary, a huge progressive anthem that firmly solidifies the Baroque camp as leaders in the genre. A winding techy affair with subtle melody changes and a wealth of musical elements. A simple haunting piano line melded together with sweeping strings and pulsating pads. Gorgeous!
DJ19 vs Thomas Penton: Ima (Original/Klubfilter remixes) (19box promo)
Japan's DJ19 has been enjoying lots of success lately thanks to his 19Box recordings label and the attention it's been receiving. Team him up with Thomas Penton and we have a dark chugging peice with loads of energy. Perfectly layered percussion and dark synth elements combine for a true masterpiece. Flipside mix is a more melodic vocal number with a twisted techy edge that makes it stand out from everything else.
Paris & Sharp: Unreleased EP (Groovestation promo)
A couple of unreleased Paris & Sharp tracks here on this cheeky white label pressing. First is their remix of the mammoth classic Solarstone-Seven Cities. Chunky and progressive but still with that uplifintg melody.

bvb: als ik een plaat gelijk heb lopen dan is er na 2 minuten toch een heel klein verschil. En ben nog aan het evolueren ma ben er bijna

Shiloh - I really want U [Nascent Recordings]

The past year has been a rollercoaster ride for the Shiloh boys Justin & Colin Moreh. With five singles under their belt, their own Internet radio show Electrofly, not to mention countless remixes already under their belt, it seems they show no signs of letting up anytime soon. They have recently completed collaborations with Marc Mitchell, Benz & MD, Fragrant Music's Jolen Essex and also vocalist Michelle Chivers, and have still found time to continue work on their forthcoming artist album and also put together this single, 'I Really Want U' for Nascent Recordings. Blimey, there's no rest for the wicked, that's for sure.
Fusing driving beats and electro hooks into a rolling house groove, the 'Death By Chocolate Dub' is another great dancefloor track from Shiloh. Dynamic layering allows different elements to be brought in and out of the groove freely, the floating melodies giving the track a spacious feel, with the void filled with some tight breakbeat arrangements and a robotic vocal with addictive tendencies. Don't worry about overindulging however, as there's a 'Death By Chocopella DJ Tool' for those vocal cravings.
The remix is provided by 'Andre Absolut' who's work on labels such as Ritmic, SOG and Vapour in the last few months has really seen him begin to come into his own. His pumping bassline and heavy beats build up the tempo nicely, with big melodic stabs and string effects taking us into the main vocal section, with the bassline slamming it's way through the break and exploding as Andre pulls out all the stops and turns in an awesome electronic house mix that is every bit as impressive as Shiloh's own original.
Amongst the mass of new tracks and remixes that have been appearing from Shiloh in the last few months, 'I Really Want U' is up there with 'Swerve' as their best yet, and is the finest offering to date on Nascent Recordings, who's releases in the last few months have been nothing short of impressive to say the least.
Momu - The Dive (Remixes) [Nu Republic]
A: Luke Fair mix
B: P.N.O mix
Momu have been around for a few years now, but amidst the many remixes they have completed over the years for artists such as Cass, Jondi & Spesh, and Digital Witchcraft, they've managed to find time to put out a few singles, of which 'The Dive' is their most popular to date. A personal track to the duo, it ended up featured prominently on MTV, thanks to a music video created by inspiration US producer Kia Simon, and now well deservedly gets revisited with this set of new mixes.
The 'Luke Fair mix' has been a firm favourite of John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo in the last few months. Opting to leave out Alysoun Quinby's heartfelt vocals, Luke takes a 4/4 direction with the mix, using big melodic keys, bass fills and percussive rhythms in his own unmistakable style. With the piano of the original only being used sparingly during the intro, the mix builds and twists, the warm bassline sending ripples through the groove and allowing the stunning melody to rise through. A stunning summer house mix from the consistently good Mr Fair.
Momu's own 'P.N.O mix' is a reworking of the original, a deep and emotive journey through the world of progressive breaks. For me the original has always defined the genre, and this remix leaves the original largely unchanged, with the added piano hooks and tweaked beat structures giving it even more depth and beauty that ever before. This is without a doubt Momu's finest moment to date, and here in it's reworked form will bring the track right back to the forefront of the minds of those familiar with the original, at the same time allowing those who were unable to track down a copy to get in on the action and see what the fuss is all about.
Another outstanding release from Nu Republic, the label making a big statement even though this is only it's third release, and with plenty more where this came from, keep em locked and get ready to join the movement in the coming months.
Those Two Guys - 33 Rev [Looq Records]
A: Original mix
B: Blake Jarrell & Starkid crunker mix
Whom Those Two Guys are remains a mystery, but '33 Rev' is the latest release from the confines of Looq's San Francisco home, with the usual off the wall mad as eggs production style that we've come to expect from this label in the last few months present, ensuring some crazy dancefloor action without fail. If that's not enough, Starkid and Blake Jarrell are on hand with a terrific rework that only seeks to add to the mayhem rather than calm it.
The 'Original Mix' has that old school progressive feel, big driving beats and floaty soundscapes fading into a drifting hypnotic groove that slowly entices you into it's cage and locks you there. Subtle drum percussion cuts through the rising saw style riff that forms the big lead of track, sliding in underneath as the break hits, and it's here that the twist occurs as a Ragga MC struts his stuff during the final moments.
However, it's the Starkid & Blake Jarrell Mix that is the one here, a stunning hard hitting spaced out progressive breaks mix that has more twists and turns than Birmingham's infamous Spaghetti Junction, grinding bass and arpeggiated hooks providing the elements of the flowing and dynamic groove, with some excellent melodic keys sliding over the top of the vocal which is wisely kept to a minimum so as not to take anything away from this incredible collaboration that blows the original clean out of the water.
A game of two halves really. The original will find it's niche quite nicely in any set, but flip over for the remix for maximum dancefloor carnage, as Looq once again deliver the goods.
Grayarea feat. Erik Shepard - Gravity (Remixes) [Hope Recordings]

B: Hybrid love from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch mix)
Released earlier this year in it's original form, Grayarea's 'Gravity' seen a departure from the sound of their two previous singles 'One For The Road' and 'Yewminyst', taking the full vocal route with assistance from Chicago band Life On Sea's vocalist Erik Shepard. The limited edition vinyl was met with mixed reaction with some not happy with the new direction whilst others embraced it, but not wanting to shun their longstanding fans, this remix 12" of club mixes should more than address the balance.
The 'Albatross Mix' sees Grayarea revisit Gravity and rework it with the dancefloor in mind. If the original was a bit too laid back for you, then this remix should be more to your liking as the dark beats and dirty bassline come into play, taking Erik Shepard's vocal higher, underpinned by pulsating riffs that punch their way through the busy soundscape. Sliding over the top of the beats, the mood builds crescendo style to an awesome analogue style breakdown where the bass drops to reveal melody lines and immense percussive layers. that ease the momentum, the layers compacting to a outro that is riddled with loads of subtle twists and turns and a series of drops that really hammer this mix into the home straight, Chi-town style.
Hybrid take a more underground approach to the track, turning in a grand breakbeat mix complete with strings, dark breaks, dirty basslines and the big floating soundscapes that have featured in their more recent tracks and remixes, particularly on their album 'Morning Sci Fi'. The arrangements are incredibly tight, a downtempo intro soon fading into a rugged groove, piston style beats drilling down into the floor of the soundscape as string elements and melodies are used to build some emotion within the mix. As the intensity builds, a big guitar solo is brought in, adding a totally different dimension that creates a satisfying peak to this mix, which fuses trademark Hybrid sounds old and new together, and whilst not their best ever, is indeed their best remix in some time.
Two stellar club mixes that fans of both artists will love. There's nothing more to say - get down the stores and pick up a copy as soon as possible, unless you can defy Gravity.
