Sydney Vs Melbourne (My Experience)

This venus was pheomenal!
It was heaps better in Melbourne because of the size
but,
it was nice to be close to the DJs @ Home in Sydney.

I found that A&B rocked in Sydney, but Eddie Halliwell was on fire!
(I understand the album title now).

But in Melbourne, I feel A&B stole the show, and Eddie's was a bit too technical with his loops and mixing, that his energy wasn't felt through the crowd like in Sydney.

I am disappointed that A&B didn't play Satellites. It was unbelievable at home! Everyone singing, electric!

Thanks for a great time, I will definately be around for the next one,
even though i live up here in Newcastle soon Brisbane!

Cheers,
Jack Miracle

Steve,

Back to what I was saying about the bass over bass mixing thing...

On your GK Mix. Listen to the bassline mix through 5-6, 6-7, 7-8 even 8-9. I would say the mixes on in and out of track 7 are the most stand out. Listen to it with some decent sub bass and pay attention to the bassline juming around a bit. Not as clean with the bassline changeover. Doesnt sound that great on the dance floor.

Don't want to sound picky or anything. I am sure I wouldnt be the only one who would notice this. :-)

Steve.

Oh cmon man ffs your bringing this up... again!?

look mate i appreactiate your opinion and im open to all critizism. But part of what your saying doesnt really make any sense to me and i dont care to be honest. In terms of the bassline 'jumping' well thats just how some tracks are and thats just how they sound depending on which tracks are being mixed in or out of it or could be how i was using the eq's at the time, big deal?!
If you where critizising me if my beat mixing was shit or the choons where shit then yes, fairenough.
But your wasting your time picking on something that 99% of the population probably didnt notice couldnt careless about so it wouldnt surprise me if you where the only one to notice it.

Still for you to go to this length you must have brought my cd and for that i thankyou for the support...

May i ask you exactly howlong have you been djing for? and whens your next gig?

regards,
steve

I am not going to any lengths. In trying to explain my original 'short' post I said I would show you an example of what I was talking about which is what I have done. I am following through. I didnt buy your CD to show you this or 'be picky', I buy every new CD as soon as it comes out because I love the music.

Now it seems that I may be looking like a person who is out to criticise which is not correct at all. Criticise is the wrong word, I am giving my thoughts/feedback, you questioned it and I have answered/explained. I am not 'attacking you' so to speak so please dont take it that way. This forum is for people in the scene to discuss their thoughts and opinions on parties, dj's, etc. Everyone has different opinions, and as dj like yourself it is a good place to come to get an idea of what your audience may be thinking, liking, etc.

Obviously you've taken offense to this which was not my intention so I apologise and will leave it at that. If what i have said does not make sense or you dont care then thats cool just ignore it, your right in saying that 99% of the people dont notice.

Like I said a few posts back I am no DJ and never will be. The alias is a historical joke name amongst friends, and it was the only name I could get because others I wanted were taken. I am a keen punter with a love for the music, period.

In steve's defence, alot of djs mix tracks with the basslines playing together, no big deal.

But steve - relax a bit man, he's entitled to his opinion.

now both of you shut the fuck up, oh and ive been djing for 50 years, even before i was in my dad's sacks.. i was djing before records were invented.

steve, your CD is definitely growing on me. and cant say ive noticed any subpar mixing.

if i can put 11 tracks together without a wreck this week you'll all soon be bowing down to me.

Bit of a late reply but I just saw this post. Sorry to say this to you mate but I do not have another alias on here. I read here a fair bit, but don't post often. You can run whatever IP checks you like :-)

If this means you are going to post a photo of your nuts, then I wont be coming back to this thread. hehe :-)
