No player of this generation is capable of things like that. He is, or was, today's (or yesterday's) Pele.
No one is saying that Zidane shouldnt have gotten a red card - trust me, the red card was VERY WELL deserved (despite the fact that it seemed like Buffon was being a lil cry-baby, telling on Zidane, but whatever).
Zidane did get a red card, he deserved it. But was it a bad thing to do? not really. I probably would have done the same thing if some ass was to say something racist (if that's wot was said) to me.
But then again, i am very short-tempered.

materazzi deserved it, he's scum who tries to cheat & kick & talk his way through things. Our entire bar cheered when it happened, sadly it didn't connect to his face. Ok, so it wasn't going to not be a red card, I'm not disputing it, but if it is proven as racist taunts, uefa/fifa should ban materazzi for 12 months. Only by imposing overly strict laws will people learn, there is no place for it in the modern game. Sadly this ass also assaulted Sorin in the champs league & got away with it. He's nothing but a thug who in any other place would get criminal charges for his behaviour.

racism is one thing..and i think if thats was what was said i wouldve been more understanding of zidane as ive said already..but i think if it was something less grave, about his mother and sister, then i have to revert back to my original sentiments and feel that zidane has let everyone down really. materrazzi should not be villified i dont think..unless its racism..which is looking less likely now, but i dont know if we'l ever really know.
